I bring you... the Xen Levels in Black Mesa

@bur, i am trying to do for real Xen world with Source-Engine. If you like any nice look. Thanks. I am sorry becasue i am developing and working for xen maps

So you’re trying to make a version of Xen where it’s actually a planet in a solar system?

Just in case you don’t know, that’s not at all what it’s meant to be in the story. It’s meant to be some sort of abstract dimensional border-world.

In any case, good luck

SourceSkyBoxer Good luck with your c4a1. In your map I would like to see :

  • better textures ( those from screenshots quiet sucks)
  • a lot of xen flora and fauna
  • scripted sequences
  • xen water lakes
  • hev suit scientists dead bodies ( ragdolls)
  • new music tracks
  • cool jumping with long jump module sequences
  • some gravity variations with character and environment

Here is my old c4a1 map (this is a forum thread about it ) : LINK

Maybe you will find something in my map, that would interest you.

Xen doesn’t have moons as it is not a planet. It’s a dimension.

Yes thanks i will try.

If you try that. Xen Water lake? I don’t forget to add like habitabled moons and habitabled planets :stuck_out_tongue:

Okay you want. But i like skybox should to like good and awesome look

Thanks i will create something more…

Don’t create moons, create floating islands.

@SourceSkyBoxer your idea is good but i dont think it fits to be xen, you are trying to make something else. and progress of this xen is great

Actually, I’d be okay with Xen having a moon. It doesn’t necessarily contradict Xen’s borderworld state. Tons of stuff has wound up in Xen - fauna, flora, etc - so why not full moons?

the term moon doesn’t really mean anything outside of planetary systems though… then it’s just a big floating rock that maybe looks like a moon

Doesn’t the rock have to be orbiting a planet to be considered a moon? If there’s no actual planet known as Xen…?

… big round floating rock, then?

didn’t i just say both of those things?

Can anyone please give me full instructions on how to install Zen. I own HL, HL2 HL source etc (every game) on STEAM. I used to download half-life mods so I know how to put stuff in different directories but this one has me stumped

I’m not sure if this is what you’re asking, but Xen has not been officially released. I don’t know if anything ever came out of this thread, but there’s no official Xen yet.

According to the opening post of this thread:

Since vlad updated the textures, you just need the file in the download itself.

^^This is not the official Xen.

I mean the Zen levels in black Mesa that (dky.tehkingd.
Vortigaunt has made

Use GCFscape to extract the HL: Source “xeno” folder to your \BMS\materials\ folder. Then put the map files in the \BMS\maps\ folder.

Hi all, if anyone interested, I’ve released a small update for the version of Xen v 0.1, this is now xen v.0.11 https://www.moddb.com/mods/black-mesa-xen-improved-maps-from-half-life
But I have no more desire to work on Xen, I started working on another project, and updates unfortunately will no longer be

Omg why do you publish worng xen world? I still work at concept of nice xen world.

PS: They are forcing me about dimension or real world. I will say because xen world is not here. gliese or kepler worlds are there by us.

PS: I am sad because you don’t believe me becasue gliese or kepler world are not for Half-Life Black Mesa Source.

I am blessed for you and i need to improve for real world like we life here and we have found habitabled planets ( Exo Planets or another earth ) - but wed are not. Only NASA and ESA have found another habitable planets and they are using speical telescope with largest light years…

I will say bedcause Black Mesa Source -> Start trainstation from the earth than end: gliese’s Solarsystem for example.

Thanks. I am sorry i am working long cleanned maps for gliese world. Thanks
