I was part of the initial team! I was the first leveldesigner of Lambda Core before Jean-Paul took over ( I faced other important life stuff that took up all my time 
).
Kalash was our Leader, together with PR guy Denzil.
I remember before announcing the MOD was Work in Progress, we decided that (it was October) we would announce the mod Jan. 1st., and give ourselves time to get familiar with the Source SDK and hire peeps.
I also made the template for Media releases. Still used today.
A nice little trivia about that:
- in the upper lefthand corner, in the ‘grunge bar’ that has the logo and ‘BLACK MESA’ text, if you look closely on screenshots with a light background, you can read “LIRE CENTO” (good example).
I used brushes I downloaded to get the grunge effect, and one of the brushes was of Italian banknotes. the Lire used to be the Italian currency. 
I did not discover it myself until we were already using it at large

To be honest, I was at a party a while ago, and a nerdier guy started having a conversation about video games, and somehow black mesa came up. He said something along the lines of “yeah, it’s been a while, I think it’s dead.”
I had to restrain myself from going all out telling them how it’s still going.

I had them bookmarked and then they mysteriously disappeared a while ago.
Got Steam and downloaded TF2 and Gmod and went on Wikipedia to find other mods to download. Found the page on this, went to this website, and there you go.

I found out about this a long time ago. Think I also searched for mods to play and wanted a better version of Half-Life on Source engine than that auto-port HL: source.
It’s almost impossible to think that the game finally will be out this year.

Actually, sorry, I was looking for Balck Meas, which apparently was “The Shit” etc. , and I came across the much more proffesional-looking Black Mesa.
