How would YOU release Black Mesa?

I’ve been lurking pretty heavily for a while now, but has anyone else noticed the titles under people’s usernames have been inverted. People with very few posts now have Gargantua status and people like Maxey are now only Houndeyes. :brow:

Yeah. They changed it. Now the cockroaches are the king.

I’m the king of the world baby

Am I the only one who senses a bit of sarcasm directed towards us cockroaches?

I mean where would they be without this army of insects?
(They would probably had released in 2009…)

I have a great idea!!! Release it on USB drives left in the urinals of showgirls, LA dolls and hustler strip clubs. This would guarantee the mod gets delivered to 99.7% of the mod fans. The rest would have to get it through lame outlets like steam and bit torrent.

I’ll pack it with Operation: Black Mesa,Guard Duty,Wilson Chronicles.

I would print it on 500 CDs, pack them in boxes, and put a few of them on the shelves of major game stores, the others in, say, a few Future Shops, all with the printed shelf price of $0.00, tax included. Then see what happens. If a download didn’t show up within a week, I’d put it on the site.

I wouldn’t. It’s mine.

I would distribute it using torrents, and add a virus wiping everyones harddisk after installation using the Protect Star TM Secure Deletion ALgorithm ®. I wonder how many people would Ignore the anti-virus warning going: “Aww, cmon Ram would never do that”.

I’d send it out on stylish DVDs for free, along with a free tee shirt of choice.

Or I’d zip it up in a tar.gz, zip that, .rar that, tar.bz2, then tar.gz again, then I’d burn it to a blu-ray disc, and hide that along with the ark of the covenant after deleting it from every pc that does have it.

I’d do something random but also quirky and unique!

^ post is best in thread

I’d release on torrent so only the intelligent would be able to obtain the game.

I would distribute it on 1.44 mb floppy disks

You mean morally bankrupt

I would sit there, eyeing the epic completed work, and say “Wouldn’t it be funny if it was never released?”

Then I would erase it from existence, letting the patient fans hang in limbo.

Split it in 1mb parts with WinRAR (so about 2k parts), and upload it to something like rapidshare or megaupload or any uploader which limits you to 1 file every 60 min.
We would need more than 83 days to get it.

It will actually be about 10k.

I’d upload it here. As an attachment.

I would release it “Saw Style”.

I’d split the mod into ten discs, first.

Then, hunt down the the 10 most excited people in the world for Black Mesa Source, implant one of the discs into each of them, and put them in an abandoned, locked warehouse.

Then I’d give them crowbars. Last one standing wins!

I would release it how I want to release it.
/pun intended

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
