Sometimes, when I wake up at night to check whether they released BMS already, I have this nightmare after I fall asleep again:
Black Mesa has been free to download since 2009, but everyone knowing it keeps it a secret, and the only way you can find out about the super secret download link is by performing oral sex on a developer, or alternatively reading every single post in the BMS board.
But that is just a nightmare. Isn’t it?

I’d release part of it on LTO tape cartridges, part of it on SCSI hard drives, part of it on punched paper tape, and part of it on WORM discs.
Realistic:
Direct download w/ mirrors, BitTorrent. If Valve is willing, distribute it via Steam.
I would make the community distribute the mod via ONE 4GB flash drive.
And for the sake of being cruel, I second that idea, but instead of one 4GB flash drive, 4000 1 MB flash drives that have to be installed in order, but are mislabeled or not labeled at all.
I would get Santa Clause to distribute it by hand this summer.
Easy, I’d email it to everyone on this forum, but put the topic as “Want to have oral sex with local gay singles?” and put a ton of virus giving ad links in it, and have the release link on the very bottom in 1pt text, right below - that way, everyone will mark as spam
