He hardly tames it. All he does is remove the brainsuckers and fangs.

He put a one catched headcrab into an homemade alcohol for few seconds and headcrab become friendly :stuck_out_tongue:

Anything can be tamed. Lots of people have snakes, tarantulas, or scorpions as pets. Some people even have alligators, or tigers as pets. Don’t you watch TV? :slight_smile:

Taming headcrabs? I find a shotgun works well.
Though Kleiner did surgery. I expect he pets Lamaar frequently as well.
Also, Lamaar feeds on watermelons; She’s debeaked, but she can still suck/bite well enough to get nutrients out of fruit. She just can’t get through skull. (I assume they don’t even bother piercing the skin with anything other than their beaks when trying to get a host.)

According to variables I get from random sources, the one in HL2 is Lamar LIV(54).

The one in ep2 is LV(55), Lamar LIV died on it’s way to white forest. Put the roman number in google translate to find the irony.

so he tamed 55 headcrabs…he really needs a woman…like Sheldon in The Big Bang Theory…he had an argue with his “girlfriend” and so he bought around 6 cats …so…Kleiner is a lonely scientist, trying to tame new headcrab and giving it the same name…so as I said…he really needs a woman …or at least a friend … :stuck_out_tongue:

He first tamed Lamar I as a scientific experiment, but it died and it’s loss made Kleiner miss it so much, he has every time a Lamar died, tamed a new one. It is more like Snowball in the Simpsons.

National Geographic had an article about taming wolves. A group of Russian researchers kept breeding wolves and selecting the tamest wolf pups out of each brood. After a few generations, the wolves became like dogs.

Kleiner probably did the same thing.
