How good will this mod run?

I wouldn’t doubt it, a 9800 GTX+ can get an avg of 79 FPS on EP2, and that cards barely better, but it really depends on the system supporting the GPU in a Source game’s case.

If you play this game using two ATI Radeon HD 4870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 X16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Ice Q 4+ Turbo graphics cards, you will blow this game out of the water because it will be sweet perfection on two of these awesome ATI cards. That’s what I will have in my custom-built gaming PC that a coworker of mine is building. If you gamers have the money and you want near-perfection or perfection results, get two video cards instead of one.

why dont u build ur own?

or get 4

Or just get a 5870.

I just spent a grand on new parts, I don’t think I’m going to drop any more on a new video card.

Because I don’t want my first computer that I build from scratch to be a gaming computer. I want my first creation to be a computer that can run Ubuntu Linux. Then I will progress to a computer that can run Windows, Linux, and MacCrap OS (the one OS that’s full of crap). Then my third computer will be the gaming computer. I want experience before I make my own gaming computer. I leave it to my coworker because he has experience all his life building computers. He even told me that his dream job would be to work at Alienware and build their computers.

haha, because building a computer is so difficult, right?

I know that it’s not rocket science. However, I want to have the gaming PC that runs Black Mesa to be a jewel. After the gaming PC that my coworker builds for me dies because of old age, I will use those parts that I can salvage to build my own computer which, because I can change my mind, I might use to make a gaming PC or a Ubuntu Linux PC or a “I have all three OS” computer.

Building a computer takes no brains whatsoever. Basically, don’t give yourself a static charge, don’t play with fluffy kittens around the computer, and dont eat/drink around the computer while building it.

All the parts just pop together with a screwdriver. I built my dad’s computer from scratch without any prior knowledge of building computers. And it works fine.

You’re an idiot.

My computer is TEN. FUCKING. YEARS. OLD. It has not died yet. You’re looking at 15 years AT THE VERY LEAST before that computer dies of old age.

Some computers die of old age in 2 years.

Dude, im 15 and the first comp I built was for gaming and it was and still (of whats left of the original build) is a jewel.

I am getting the cheapest parts at the cheapest prices so I assumed that my gaming PC might not last long. If it lasts long, more power to it.

Pretty shitty parts, then. Either that, or my computer is a fucking tank. It’s survived through 5 years of use, a move from Pittsburgh to where I live now, and another 5 years of use.

You’re stupid then.

Spend more money on the parts that matter, that’s all. If you can’t afford reliable parts, don’t build a PC.
.

10 years? That’s nothing! :stuck_out_tongue:
My 80386 is still working fine.

I actually used to use a 386 when I was really young. Then we upgraded to a Pentium 200 mhz with 64 MB of RAM.

Christ, even my computer is a supercomputer compared to that.

I remember our family having a 386, a 486, and then the mighty power of a P120.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
