How does my PC stack up in 2011/2012

Hello I’m wondering how well my PC will stack up against newer PC’s in 2011/2012?

Ram:Corsair XMS3 4GB 1333mhz
CPU: Core I7 860 2.8ghz (soon to be overclocked)
GPU: Zotac Gtx 580 (May 2011)
Harddrive: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
Power supply: Thermaltake toughpower 1000 watt
Case: Cooler Master HAF 932 (Original 2008 version)
Motherboard: Asus Maximus Formula iii
Heatsink: Cooler Master V8
Sound card: on board Asus Supreme fx II

Your E-Peen will be fine for awhile don’t worry about it.

LoL who’s saying I’m bragging about my PC  Edit: When I read that I almost spit water all over my screen!

I think I had that build like 5 years ago.

I had it 10 years ago.

Honestly my current build is pretty old and still runs games fine. You honestly don’t need anywhere near an up to date computer.

Ever considered getting a sound card?
Hows the on board sound compared though?
When I transferred form on board to sound card, the sound was much better and crisper, but then again the on mobo was from like 04’,05’ best buy dell all in one.

To be realistic, there´s not much difference if any at all from integrated sound chips from 05 to now

I’m pretty happy with my E6600@3.0Ghz+4gb DDR2 800Mhz+8800GT 512MB+cheapo motherboard with only PCI-e x4 (no x16 nor PCI-e 2.0)

I need to replace my Nvidia 720 and my old 80 gb hard drive. Besides those two components I’m good.

My computer sucks so bad I mean all the newer computers are like 100000000000x better all i have is a core i7 at 4ghz and a radeon hd 5870 and 6gb ram i mean wow such shit

haha ur pc sux its slower than my phone lolol

When I read this I almost spat water all over my screen!

I can hardly run BF3 at 40 FPS with my i5 760 @3.5GHz, 8GB RAM, and HD 5870 :frowning: .

I may be mistaken, but a simple exchange for a more presumptuous graphics card shall leave ye gleeful.

Haha I’m going to wait as long as I can to get a new graphics card. BF3 is the only game in recent memory that’s challenged my card (besides GTAIV with enb mods but that doesn’t count). Besides, I’m happy with 40 FPS.

That’s a fairly good GPU he shouldn’t have to replace at least for another 3 years.

Upgrading from a 5870 to another single gpu would be pointless now-- I looked into it myself thoroughly since I have a 5870, and the GTX 580 isn’t that much more powerful, especially not enough to justify the price of upgrading.

The only reason I’d exchange my 5870 for another card would be for two 6950s so I could crossfire them. That would give a good performance increase, especially since one 6950 performs a little better than a 5870 by itself, and crossfires significantly better (and isn’t too much more expensive).
