How do you hold your keyboard?

Do you put your left hand on the ASD keys, left thumb on spacebar. right hand on the mouse?

Or do you go professional typist asdfjkl; way?

Lift? Flower? Farm? Lift?

Omitting all counts of serious.

Lift? :frowning:

I hold it on my butt and control computer with my mind.

I keep my index fingers on the f and j keys and I suppose fit the professional typer in your OP.

i use the throttle and stick shift in order to keep ordenance with ceneter cumadnd

Left pinky on Shift, next three on A W and D then my thumb on spacebar. Palm as low down as possible resting on the slanted edge of the keyboard.

Left pinkey on L-Ctrl, next three on A W and D then my thumb right under the spacebar. Palm hanging off of the keyboard, hovering over my lap and supported by my the part of my arm directly below my wrist resting on the arm of my chair. Right hand on mouse.

I can vouch for this method.

Left hand:
Pinky on left shift
Tips of next three on AWD

Right hand:
Thumb for clicking
Index finger controls mousepad
Middle finger is spacebar

Depends:

While gaming I go with the WASD combo with left pinky on shift and left thumb on space. Right hand on Mouse or Arrow keys depending.

Any other time I have it in the standard asdfjkl; position.

Get yourself a mouse ffs.

I don’t have the room to use one anywhere! No desks or tables. I’ve become quite accustomed to it. It’s not great for precision shooting, but it gets the job done for an old fashioned round of HL2 Team Deathmatch, or TF2 every now and again. I’m not really competitive at all.

I crouch with shift in any game that doesn’t have sprint.

You play TF2 with a mouse-pad? :fffuuu:

Am I the only gamer who uses the right side of the keyboard for gaming? :expressionless:

Arrows for strafing , Up-Arrow to jump
KP0 - Secondary Fire
KP1 - Reload
R-CTRL, R-Shift etc…

Right Mouse-Button - Forward

Odd, but works beautifully. It got me 1st place (out of 30) in a CoD : MW2 multiplayer tournament in which I won a pair of Plantronics Gamecom Headphones. :3

Right Hand:
Pinky: Ctrl
Index: Alt

Left Hand:
Middle: Delete

Left hand:
Mouse

Right hand:
Penis

I used to use the right side of the keyboard until I got completely sick of remapping keys every time I played a new game. But holy shit that is one fucked up control set up. Even my right side system was more standard than that. I suggest you convert, it will make things a lot easier for you.

I don’t really touch the thing unless I’m playing something. When I’m typing I only use my index fingers.

I always use the left alt for crouching. Ctrl is hard to reach for me and even shift is kind of out of the way to hold down. If I can I try to put menus on the side buttons of my mouse. Like for Stalker I put both the inventory and PDA on the side buttons.

Generally as soon as I sit down to a computer my left hand either on the arrows keys if I’ve been playing lots of RTS games, or WASD if I’ve been playing lots of FPS games. I type in whatever way I taught myself, as I learned to type from playing runescape way back in the day.
