How do you adjust first person weapon placment in blender or whatnot?

Is it possible to take one of the weapons in the game and change its placment on the screen? I figure you would need a 3d editor, just woundering if anyone knew how to do that?

If I’m correct, I think you can change the field of view in the console, if that’s what you’re talking about.

I found this.

It looks like you have to know C++, unfortunately.

You only need to code if you want to use Ironsights to aim.
If he wants them all the time, only model edits are required- you’ll need to reorient or redo the animations.

thanks a lot pyro, thats deffinately a start, though im not sure where to start in that regard, what file do i edit those changes into. they list a bunch of files but i have no idea where to get them concerning this mod.

I thought those were the files that open up when you start your own mod with the SDK, but I have no idea how to get them out of a allready packaged mod.

but as for just the original question, i was talking simply about editing the weapons origin, to be more in the center (ie half life 1).

you want to re-origin the weapon v_models. This can be done by opening the animations for them in whatever software you’re using.

There’s likely a million in-depth tutorials for this on gamebanana.

cant this be done just by fiddling wth the qc file?

whats the QC file?

BTW, thanks up there, ill try and figure out how to do that in a 3d program if i can find a good free one…

…but hey if i can edit it in c++ or something and skip having to bother, thats probably even better.

blender is the only free one out there

Here’s a video of how to place a weapon in blender.
