How Come in half-life 1 Gold$rc there are no circles in the game

What’s this, geometry for kindergarten

It was that, or a wave. A FUCKIGN WAEV!

Regarding OP, the reason the buttons and shiz looked round(er) was cuz they were done has TECKSTCHERS! A techstcher is when one does have image on it.

But seriously, you should keep an eye out when playing other games. It definitely won’t be as obvious as it is in GldSrc (12 years old, now), but you’ll find that nowhere can you find a perfect circle or any perfect curve. It will always be a varying amount of straight edges.

@Madcat1030: That’s actually a nice poem. Its catchy and has a nice shape too

I also noticed that there is nothing in the shape of f(x)=sin(1/x), especially near zero. Wasn’t Valve able to draw that?

I kept an eye out for tan x, but it appears asymptotes were beyond the limitations of the goldsource engine. By episode three we’ll have inconceivable parallel universes shown. Made up of triangles, of course

The circle wasn’t invented until early 2000, duh :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m going to have to side with hercules on this one. I think he got it at the first explanation.

Maybe we should challenge OP to render an actual circle.

If you’re talking about a true circle, it can be done with a 2D vector.

If you’re talking about a cylinder, then no :stuck_out_tongue:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
