HL2 libsyncing

Well, there is those great tool in FacePoser, called “Phoneme Editor”.
But my question is, whether you get better results by not using the auto extraction (afaik that function is even broken on Vista/7) but doing it manually, or would this be to much work?

How are you doing it or what would you recommend?

Thanks!

Automatic extraction is much easier; doing it manually is possible but increases your workload. I highly recommend finding a computer that can do the extraction for you so you don’t go crazy from doing it by hand.

Thank you, but sadly there doesn’t exist another PC with XP in the vicinity.
Any alternatives?

Sry, I was drunk…thanks anyway!

I’ve always done it manually. While I have XP, I lack the bandwidth to download the files needed to do lip-syncing. It’s not that much work unless you have longer lines or monologues.

sigh Dammit. Please delete this post- The page timed out when I posted, and I refreshed when I noticed it hadn’t loaded.

Dual-boot your PC, or start looking for workarounds for W7/vista and faceposer :stuck_out_tongue:

You were drunk…?

No, I was just in need of an excuse for the spelling error.

Recently there has been something going around about an alternate, hacked and working version of the lipsyncer on Vista/7.

You’re on your own because I haven’t gotten it working yet.

Auto-extraction quality is very good, and any mistakes probably wouldn’t be noticed in the rapid lip movement. Manual can also go pretty quickly when you get used to it (though large areas of dialog will suck)
