I got the HL2 Update mod everyone’s talking about with the most recent patch. The graphics are awesome, but there is one concern i have regarding the HUD
The crosshair has a Q over it, and the crowbar icon has been replaced with the letter C. Don’t ask me.
That’s basically all I can’t live with, but if it has any relevance, the Pause screen title text simply says HALF-LIFE’, and the scripted Strider sequence at the beginning didn’t happen.
Wow, i was literally just about to post the same exact problem. I just got the same mod. I think there was a patch for the mod, did you get that too because i didn’t.
I did get the patch, but i wonder now if it was the correct one…

Just for fun, the hl2 hud icons are stored in font files. Someone musta forgotten to swap thos letters out
That font file is fun to play with. Can install it as a system font and use it in PS/gimp

it came out before the valve update and even after that was out for a while, stock hl2 was still kinda broken.
On a completely unrelated note, I just spilled A LOT of water onto my case last night. I immediately cut the power, toweled off the innards (the videocard and the fans got the bulk of it), and left it off overnight for any unseen water to evaporate.
I consider myself extremely lucky for my brand new computer to still be working. Just wanted to share that.

I do too. But my desk is tiny, and the back two inches got runoff from the shelf above them. That was a lucky break too. Lucky it was just water as well, I was this close to choosing soda ^^’

The achievements are there in stock HL2, but the mod still changes stuff because it seems like without the mod HL2 doesn’t use HDR or the updated water effects (at least for me)
