Idgaf what it’s called. I just don’t want it to be another 4 hour installment with no major improvements after all this time.
Then why change the name?
Can’t change the name of a game that’s really only a theory.
^
Well i just meant that they would only skip the name episode three and start Half life 3 from the ending in episode 2, because HL3 would have an improved source or a brand new engine. Just Gueesing
Every game has an improved version of the previous engine, including Episode 1 & 2. Unless the game has something that requires a significant overhaul in something other than simply graphics (The main reason most people want a new engine) I don’t see why that would be the case.
I think a lot of people wanted Ep3 to be the same in terms of graphics to Ep2 and then have HL3 as the new plot with new graphics and stuff. But even so, some, if not a lot of people think that HL3 is jumping to something entirely new, whilst it’s only going to continue from the end of Ep2 and be the length of an entire game, if not expanding to the new plot or not.
Jumping to an entirely new story is an absolutely retarded idea & the people who want
to trade a good story for some graphics & assets can go fucking play Battlefield 3.
Oh great, we’ve gotten ourselves stuck in the “HL3 vs EP3” ditch again. Hang on, let me call a tow truck…
It’s not my fault people started speculating & suggesting that valve skip over Episode 3 in the EPISODE 3 PLOT SPECULATION THREAD.
I’m thinking they’l start the episode with Freeman on the chopper.
We’l go in and out of a dream sequence that shows us what happened just after White Forrest. Alyx stays behind due to her not being in the best of moods. There will be a joke about getting some sleep from someone ( Gordon hasn’t slept since before HL1 starts ). I’d say Kleiner.
Your helicopter gets attacked and your the sole survivor (destroyed by a new flying enemy). You’ve gotta make your way through a secret Aparture base they set up once they found the Borealis ( during the portal storms and invasion, so the base was cut off and it’s inhabitants and no one knew about it/they all died in the seven hour war ).
Snow combine/synths.
Snow Xen creatures?
We make our way to the Borealis and epicness ensues.
Valve will not implement this, however I thought it would be an interesting and surprising way to finish the series.
After defeating the combine (or whatever other goals), g-man presents Gordon with a final choice: either choose to stay and continue to live alongside Alyx etc. in the dystopian future or to be placed back at Black Mesa prior to the resonance cascade, thus being given a chance to prevent the entire saga from taking place and saving much of humanity.
The major problem with this idea however would be of course that travelling backwards in time has not yet been seen during the series (even through the influence of gman). However it could be possible that the Borealis holds some kind of technology in this field … or … maybe the entire half life and half life 2 have been one long hallucination used by gman to convince Gordon to prevent the testing and thus the resonance cascade. (that would be a major twist).
Or that gordon haven’t actually woke up when the resonance cascade knocked him out and the whole thing was actually gordon’s dream.
At the end, Gordon was awoken by a scientist saying that the test was complete (with a little power problem that knock out gordon) and the specimen was actually a fake.
Then gordon got out of the test chamber and back up to the cafeteria, Only to be confronted by an angry Dr. Magnusson carrying a minigun going to kill him because of the microwave casserole.
Gordon grabs a crowbar to fight him in a boss fight, killing him in the end.
The entire BM Security Force then turn to capture Gordon, which would change to kill Gordon shortly thereafter.
Gordon fought his way through the facility to the surface, only to find out that BMRF called the military to eliminate him.
However, the military didn’t get any information which scientist is Gordon, so they go batshit insane slaughtering every scientist in the facility.
Gordon then continue fighting his way to escape the military and BM Security (which was also hostile to the military)
The Military decides to nuke the facility with gordon inside, Gordon heard of this and tries to hijack a helicopter to escape the facility, but was shot down before he could do so.
Gordon, now trapped in the facility with no other way out, take shelter in a black mesa secret experimental apocalypse shelter vault and rest in the black mesa secret experimental stasis bed.
The Nuke goes off with most of the military failed to leave the BMRF in time and gordon enter stasis sleep to wait for the time someone will search the Black Mesa ruins for the vault and awaken him.
The End?
Jesus Christ, you read my mind.
You guys are actually kidding right?
The G-man would never do such a thing. His role and actions are too complicated to be ended by this simple way.
And yes, one of the famous ideas is that Gordon will find a teleport, traveling back in time time.
Actutally this doesn’t make that much sense, since doing so he is still powerless against the G-man, who was planning the accident in Black Mesa for weeks (as we can see it in Adrian’s journal). So…unless Freeman finds a way to defeat the G-man, this scenario won’t work.
Maybe Valve is delaying Ep3/HL3 because Gordon does travel back in time to Black Mesa and they want to make it look similar to the way it looks in this mod :fffuuu: .
even stopping by in Xen to warn the Nihilanth
That would be an interesting plot.
God damn it Valve, MAKE IT SO!!!
Or don’t…
