HL2 - Broken Metrocops/Pigeons

Alright, so I decided to boot up Half-Life 2 again to check out the new update, and it is unplayable. Apparently my metrocops/CP are broken, as well as pigeons. This is not good at all. If anyone could tell me what’s wrong, I don’t think it’s caused by the update. The same thing’s been wrong with Gmod since I first started playing.

The first thing I’d try is backing up my saved games, deleting the local content, redownloading the GCFs, and seeing if it works. If it does, then I put the saved games back in and continue where I left off

Or you could save yourself a lot of time and effort and try “Verify Integrity of Game Cache.”

That would work too, but in that case you would still need to back up your saves and delete the local content, just not the GCFs. Unless steam does that automatically if the gcf integrity isn’t complete, idk

looking at his steam… "In game - Half Life 2.
I’m assuming it works now

EDIT

nevermind.

Yeah, Geekofalltrades’ thingamajig worked for me. Thanks.

Off topic - Did you know “thingamajig” is apparently accepted by spellcheck but the correct spelling of my name is not? How odd.

amusing

damn firefox for using an opensource spellchecker :rage:

Odd? Unlike your name, it’s a word found in the dictionary. You’ll find that with most words. :stuck_out_tongue:

thingamajig (also thingumajig; thingamabob or thingumabob |ˈθɪŋəmədʒɪg|)
noun, informal
used to refer to or address a person or thing whose name one has forgotten, does not know, or does not wish to mention : one of those thingamajigs for keeping all the fireplace tools together.
ORIGIN early 19th cent.: arbitrary extension of earlier thingum (from thing + a meaningless suffix). Thingumabob dates from the mid 18th cent[/SIZE].

Broken Pigeons? You mean they act like Headcrabs, trying to attack you?

Don’t mean to go off topic mate, but Open Source software is better than proprietary in a million ways :freeman:

No, like giant "ERROR"s flying around.

Whats wrong with that? it sounds hilarious.

Hahahaha sounds like you’re missing a model. Same thing happens in gmod if someone has a custom item in a server that no-one else has, they run around carrying errors.
