HL: overrated or not, aka. HL3 the savior or a failure?

some things we are expecting from the next HL( we should call it Ricochet 2 instead ):

-open enviroments and the most interancion with them.
-new experimental weapons
-the addition to dinamic climatic changes to Source (if valve doesn´t make Source 2)
-Better graphics
-more enemies and xenian wildlife
-fighting advisors
-a gordon´s body (its hard but posible)
-a snow vehicle
-visit the Borealis
-its release…

I think the best way to fix this would be to have the next version of the HEV suit come with a built-in gravity gun, like the telekinesis in Dead Space.

Imagine using a suit GG to pick up an explosive barrel WHILE shooting it to start the “timer”. It could actually be cool.

Seriously now, HL1 had Mark IV, HL2 Mark V, then I don’t see them abandoning this “tradition” and it would be nice if the suit this time centers more on offensive systems, it’s defense sucks anyways.

Using a built-in gravity manipulation while being allowed to shoot using another hand ACTUALLY sounds good. More control, more options = more awesome gameplay.

We should just compile a wishlist of all the things we want in the HEV mk VI.

I vote for a shoulder-mounted searchlight to augment the arm-mounted flashlight.

It should also have a gun that launches bears.

In all seriousness, it’d be nice if the HEV MK VI had a feature that did not fully consume, say, a 25-health health kit when Gordon has 90 points of health.

What about having the suit morphine have effects on Gordon’s POV? He’s been in that thing for a while now, isn’t Gordon a total morphine addict by now?

I guess that depends on how often he was injured (canonically).

what about regenerating health and armor…let say that gordon picks a medkit/charger that regenerates the life points when injured like… uhh… crysis but just when you have the items, after regenerating 1000 poins of health the medkit/charger goes empty and the player must look for other one…

I actually kinda want a revised health system. No regeneration bullshit, but something better than “walk over and heal”.

Mostly because I want HL to separate itself from Marathon’s health system a little bit. Maybe it could have something like FEAR1’s health pack system where you pick up a finite amount and use them when needed. That plus wall chargers would be pretty cool.
