Hitman Blood Money and Sound Card Acceleration

So the game crashes on the “Murder of the Crows” level. I searched and found that the solution is to disable sound card acceleration but the problem is Windows 7 doesn’t have an option for it. Is there any way to, even for just when it crashes, fix the problem?

Disable sound card in device manager?

I was thinking about that. It’s a temp fix but I suppose it’ll work since it seems to crash right when I’m escaping the level. I trust I can just start it right back up afterwords?

Maybe.

Okay, I disabled my sound card and played it again but it still crashed. My video card sound (it says ATI Sound) is still on, though. Do I have to disable both of them?

The problem isn’t with sound card acceleration. The reason you can’t control it in Windows 7 is because Microsoft removed the hardware acceleration entirely, so that isn’t the cause of your issues.

Have you tried the simple things, like running the game in compatibility mode, right-clicking on the icon and running it as Admin, etc?

Do these to the actual game exe or make a shortcut with Steam and do it to those?

Edit: Doing either to the actual exe won’t allow it to start.

Edit 2: I validated the game files and it said that 3 failed to validate. Will try again once these are downloaded.

Final Edit: Okay, that seemed to have worked. I guess that should be my first step whenever something like this happens :stuck_out_tongue: .

отлично, значит всё в поряде !

Not sure if you’re a bot or not, but you spelled the last word wrong (missed a k)

Also weird fact: Hitman 2 had this option to tick a selection in the config settings of the game labled P5, looked it up and you controlled the game with this:
