I could quite easily afford it, I have about 350 dollars in spending money right now. I just think it’s retarded to spend 180 dollars on something THAT ONLY PLAYS MUSIC. I have a 14 dollar Lexar mp3 player that I could buy an 8 gig memory card for and use it instead of the Nano. And guess what? The UI would be better.
On the right track? You’ve got to be kidding me. Their products aren’t solutions, they simply put tons of useless features into something that was fine the way it was and call it innovation. And people buy it because it looks cool and is the big fad. A touch screen on a tiny ass mp3 player is the perfect example of that.
You’d so want to believe that, do you?
Guess what? You are still full of shit. People buy it because they LIKE it, not because of how much useful features it has. And no one would care if some underage nerd on the internet will try to point out it’s “disadvantages”. Grow up already.
On topic:
I’m actually quite pleased that the are experimenting with the product range. Tbh, video playback and camera on iPod Nano was not really a good idea. And Apple realized that. Screen was too small anyway, plus obviously there was not enough memory for storing a library of videos. iPod classic is much more convenient for storing videos. ANd it’s not really necessary for nano since everyone already has camera and video playback in their phones, leave alone that you’re better off with a REAL camera than some low-tech accessory.
What they actually did is accentuated the difference between different products. Nano should be what it was intended to be - small and light. And they once more did it smaller and lighter by ditching the useless features and shedding even more weight by taking the buttons away. Oh and despite that, they increased the battery life.
Why did they make it even tinier? Because they can. And whether you like it or not, it has still got favourable reviews, and general public seem to LIKE it. So yeah, it will still sell better than your shitty zunes.

EDIT: Oh and, to end this price argument. 6g nano launch price is cheaper than launch price of 5g, leave alone 4g.
EDIT2: 5 million preorders. Need I say more?
ATM, the price point is a bit high. However like all products it’ll drop. But seriously some company needs to be looking at this thread and make an MP3 watch.
“Swiss watch? Rolex? Who needs them when you can get a touchscreen plastic, fragile and low battery life[/size] watch for the same high price! Stick with the times. Pay for features with coolness that wears off within weeks like the popular teenager you are, just because its cool!!”
even though already posted, LG released a wristwatch cell phone that also plays music and video, and you don’t have to use glue to make it stay on your wrist!
just give up trying to defend Apple, they didn’t really revolutionize anything, any company could’ve made a touchscreen phone, the only one who can make a difference is you, and any other consumer
I don’t know if this was aimed at me or what but I am not talking about a watch that I would have on ALL the time. Just ya know a watch that you would wear when listening to music on it. I would much rather have my mp3 pinned to my wrist than my jacket. It really is a logical place to put an MP3 aside from the motion your arms make while walking/running.
Hang on guys, my two iPods are practically bullet proof. My nano 2G was one durable piece of hardware, and I decided not to take chances with my Touch 2G and bought a case for it so it’s not an issue. But yeah, the devices have been pretty reliable for me, surviving many drops to hard pavement and years in my pants pockets.
first of all, devoted apple fans can have up to 18.5 iPods, 8.5 iPod generations plus 6 nanos and 3 shuffles, and besides, they are completely different, the nano 2G is alot better because it can run Rockbox, the touch is completely useless apart from downloading porn over wifi
