Help us make an awesome wiki!

hahaha!!! classic!

Not to get off on a tangent, but did you know the red streamline stapler was not a real product when this movie came out? That in fact streamline had to CREATE a red stapler JUST as a result of this movie! hahahaha!!!

ahem… ok I am done. Back on topic. So, about that wiki. Anything else or are we good for this week?

Can I (or someone else) transfer the questions in the Forum FAQ not covered in the wiki, to the the wiki FAQs once for all?
Was a good idea to put the link of the forum there, but will be even better to concentrate everything in the same place and “kill” the Forum FAQ, cause some outdated answers there conflict with the wiki faq.

(And you know… conflicts between answers always confuse the cockroaches’ head).

I would’ve thought that had been done already.

I would say go ahead and add them to the wiki, but please make sure anything conflicting is clarified in here first. Example: The hazard course. If one place says it will be there and another place says it wont, you need to make sure you find out the correct answer first before assuming it is gonna be there, only to get slapped later cuz it was planned to be in, but is now a no go.

make sense?

Ok, ready set GO!

is the race over yet?

who wins?
It sounded like a race to get the work done… -_-
… any takers?
I’m too lazy… that’s why i’m not on the mod team… or any team…

Since the Hazard Course was substituted by in game hints, what about bringing back it´s old Thumbnail, from HL1, in the place of the question mark?

Having a picture looks better than the “?” mark, it appears.

No. We already reached a consensus of not using HL1 pics in the Wiki, that is about the Black Mesa Mod itself. Except in really special cases.

EDIT: In the case of the Hazard Course thumb, I suggest this icon instead.

I know you want to keep it consistent with the other pictures and all, but having a ? mark don´t appear much better.
Anyways, your decision.

Edited. So you will expect the release to take a picture of the Hud with the hints.
Well, it´s fine so.

Edited II. There is still hints in the game instead of the HC, so that the other mark don´t appear right either (or maybe it is), well there are still hints and the wiki says that.
I don´think it would be too bad to identify it with a picture since this “chapter” is still listed.
Still, your decision.

That “X” visually suggests that the original level was scrapped (at least I thought that when I imagined the thumb… :p).
The screens of the HUD hints surely will be used as an illustration, but inside the article, cause it will be probably too small to be used as a good thumbnail.

The decision isn’t mine… but of the community. Cause the wiki is made by the community. I’m only the annoying guy that likes to keep the things sleek when possible.

(Unfortunately my good PC is broken and I can’t do that thumb myself, cause now I’m using a shitty netbook that do not support Photoshop.)

Cat, I know you are referring to the internal developers thread, but just to be safe…

Let this be the official stance for now:

“The Hazard Course will NOT be included with Black Mesa.”

We know that, JK. We are only trying to figure out how to depict that fact as a thumbnail.

EDIT: JK’s ninja edit.

This appears to be a good addition to go in the “Residue Processing” part as Trivia (or redesign history?).
Trivias are funny.

How about: No thumbnail. Just a statement at the bottom of the chapters list that says "Where’s the Hazard Course? - “The Hazard Course will NOT be included with Black Mesa.” "

Personally, I like the x thumbnail idea for the hazard course thumb, but I think it would be better in the same color scheme as the question marks.

Agreed

Yeah. I tried with the X in red version and it was too jarring.

@Firetime: Very cool your ThumbCreator! A nice tool when Photoshop isn’t available. Can you please create a version of the Red X you made, but in the same gray of the question mark of the other thumbs?

(Damn… I’m missing my Photoshop!)

Bah, thats a glitch. it should be grey. To the FTP!

EDIT: O I read it wrong. But there still is a glitch the background shouldn’t change to black when it loads transparent PNG’s

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
