Help us make an awesome wiki!

Agreed. Let’s change it, right?

Oh, for Nihilanth too, then?

I agree. Oh, and fridge/carlos, what’s the font used in the thumbnails? The one used in the template isn’t it.

I seriously don’t think anyone is that retarded. But then knowing these forums…

If they’re that retarded, they shouldn’t be playing BM.

And if they haven’t played HL before, what the fuck are they doing??

:gasp: you said fuck!

In my small opinion, any pic that is of the original HL should be labeled as such somehow. I really dont want folks to come to the page and wonder “oh hai wait the graphics are horrible!”

Well if anyone is really that dumb then they shouldn’t be here. Simple as that.

I have no objections to saying something like “Xen as seen in Half-Life 1.” Even though it shouldn’t be needed. :meh:

Yeah but that would hardly fit on the icon :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree with using HL1 pictures as placeholders.

Thankyou.

It’s not going to be for too long anyway :stuck_out_tongue:

…or is it? :fffuuu:

Anyone know? :meh:

my bad, I thought you were talking about screenshots in the media section, which do have captions.

Not sure, sorry.

bah…

Captions are still a very touchy thing to do. Very rarely are they done without looking gerky or dippy. I may need to change my opinion on this.

Gerky or Dippy, never heard of either of those.

Yeah, and if it’s any consolation, Conti, I actually really liked your thumbnails. They are very aesthetically pleasing.

EDIT: Oh dear, I skipped a whole page, anyway my opinion on Conti’s thumbnails still stands. Also, I don’t think people have to be stupid to make a mistake thinking that those are potential BM screenshots. They may have just discovered the mod and don’t know anything about it, and you know how there are low quality mods out there.

Hey again, I just thought I’d step in real quick to clarify something. When I brought up the icons in question (the icon links on the ‘Chapters’ page), I had no misconceptions of idiotic viewers mistaking the HL1 imagery for BM imagery. Rather, I approached the page from a perspective of design. The quality, effectiveness, and coherence of the wiki is improved through a consistency in style/presentation, and attention to subtle correctness.

So, because those chapters of BM have not been shown to the public, it seemed appropriate to suggest that they are a mystery. It has nothing to do with avoiding confusion, but everything to do with quality. And remember that the purpose of the Wiki is to provide all available and relevant information on the mod to ANYONE who views it, not just forum members and long-time BM-followers.

I agree with that ^
