Help us make an awesome wiki!

does anyone know how to modify the size of a youtube video on the wiki, or is it even possible at this juncture?

I doubt it’s possible, unless HTML is an option…

Even then I’m not sure.

From what I’ve experienced, standard HTML seems to work just as well as the Wiki-code stuff.

Yeah but the tag is not allowed as per https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:HTML_in_wikitext unless the tag is added to the Sanitizer.php

I know its possible, atleast on some wikis, I don’t know if its possible on this one though. Ex: on the witch page on the left 4 dead wikia there is a youtube video that is quite a bit smaller near the bottom of the page. I tried to hit the edit button to see the code, but it has some kind of wiki editor and it wouldn’t let me see any of it.

Its been awhile since I last worked with HTML code, and even then it was just beginners level. Would I all I have to do is just copy and paste the embed code found on the Youtube page into it, or is something else required? If its just a straight copy and paste job then it doesn’t work, I tried that.

When you’re in the editor, click the upper right-hand button to see the code.

This is the code they use:

Apparently, there’s more here than meets the eye.

Ah, thanks.
I think I’ve spent the better part of the day updating the wiki… Time to play some games. :3

Wiki is crooked in chrome

Oh, hey thanks cman2k!

Edit: I shrunk the video down some. Here’s the link to the page. Any suggestions for whatever else it might need?

That is a great OAR page!

i just edited a bunch of pages, and filled in some ones that were empty. Thanks to whoever added the screenshots in Lambda Core, i was too lazy to upload them. :stuck_out_tongue:

They were already uploaded  [1]

As the one in OAR, chapter pages should center around the CHANGES made. It’s a remake; the remade part is the most notable part to mention, I think.

well, at this point you can only do so much with what’s been given.

What would be the chances of some form of a vB-MediaWiki bridge?

Also I notice no one is marking their edits as minor when almsot 90% of the edits are
Just check the box in your Preferences “Mark all edits minor by default” and you don’t need to bother about it any more.

I’m mostly having trouble with people not linking to other pages :frowning:
So lately I’ve been running to the “dead-end pages” report and going through them. We’re down to 32 dead-end pages! HUZZAH!

Why,thank you! I put a lot of effort into it, but I am still not quite done with it. Thanks to all that have been contributing to it  !

Yeah, we should definitely have a section where we discuss the revisions made, but we don’t know too much about all the others. The reason I chose OAR to start with is because I knew there was more information out on it than most other chapters.

I’ll do it from now on, but what is the significance of checking the minor edits button?

I think we should discuss how we want the general layout of the chapters to be for uniformity’s sake. For example, do we want chapter summaries to be a narrative of what Gordon Freeman learns/does or do we want to describe what the player does in the chapter?

Example:

or

They both sound pretty good, and it really doesn’t matter to me which way it goes, but it sounds a little weird going from one page to the other; one page referring to the player, another referring to Gordon Freeman.

Edit: btw, good job on the chapters pages guys, looks like most of them are taking shape!
