Help us make an awesome wiki!

double post omg I dont care because I finally got it working woot! After53 painstaking edits I have (for the most part) figured out JavaScript for our wiki! I can now toggle the Collapsible-tables/Drop Image/NavFrame or whatever you want to call them with an on click function that is attached to a special div that is position on the page by wiki code. Check out the Trailer page to see the updated dim the lights box working or check out my user page. Try clicking on the Logo in the corner.

I still have to figure out a way to toggle all tables at once(close all open tables before opening a new one) but Now that I have a grasp on how the system operates it should make things better.

Also side note for Hubi. If you get the oppertunity could you un-comment out the part that displays the common.css. I know that you removed it to load in your own css to customize the wiki but common.css is helpful for designing templates. For example instead of having to use table hacks to give the rounded table corners working in IE I could use a few css lines to render then as backgrounds. I can clear out common before you link it so it doesn’t override your theme.

You are a god, FireTime. Very nice!

inb4 server crash, wiping out everything

I wonder how much a backup of the whole wiki would weight.

No, fuck it, I’m not saying it.

sorry

YAY I now have “Solo” NavFrame working. What this means is when a solo NavFrame is toggled all other NavFrame will close. You can see it in action on my user page. When you click on the BMwiki logo in the corner then the second black mesa dev link then back on the BMwiki icon both of the NavFrames will close. So pumped I got this working. :freeman:

Also I guess that I never told anyone how to use it yet

The NavFrame is still the same with the exception that you need to add style=“display:none;” to the NavHead.

For the Div link/trigger it needs to have the class “melinks” and set the title to the number that corrisponds to the NavFrame. Also add cursor: pointer; to the style to the user knows that it is clickable.

Here is an example of both.

Linker/Trigger

<div class="melinks" title="3" style="cursor: pointer;">Click me</div>

NavFrame

<div class="NavFrame collapsed autocollapse" style="border:none;"><div class="NavHead" style="display:none;"></div><div class="NavContent">Stuff that sppears</div></div>

If you want to create a solo NavFrame all you do is change title=“3” in the Linker to title=“s3”.

Currently the limit for solo NavFrame’s per page is 400. I think that is more than enough but we will see. Have at it!

EDIT: Brain wave! I just though of a simple way to re-write the script to allow for unlimited NavFrame frames and have O(1+N) instead of O(1+400) n being the number of open frames.

EDIT EDIT: Got it implemented! Now instead of iterating through all navFrames Whenever a nav frame is opened it is placed in the class opened. I can now search thru the document for Div’s contained in the class open and toggle them then remove them from the class open.
EDIT EDIT EDIT: BAH, I had to undo all of that crap because of a dumb bug. I’ll squash it tomorrow.
EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT: BAM! got that shit working. Too much Budweiser last night to debug properly. (I think I’m about to hit the edit limit)

FireTime I hate you :frowning:

It would of been funnier if you had a picture of a bulky mesa. Haha still good though.

I didnt understand any of that, but I think a couple of our wiki admins here would. btw… dont you think you guys should create a credits page listing the wiki admins/editors?

This is far beyond my knowlege.

Did you mean this? :3

(Don’t worry, I’m dreamin’… just dreamin’… I made this in Photoshop 4 teh Lulz. Not even touched the original Dev Team page.)

uh… yeah. hehe.

haha awsm.

Also @catz Yah I was in chat with RM when the changes were being made. I pleaded for the css to be reimplemented ^_^. I can now clean up some of the inline styles and move them to the common.css. Plus I can now define background-image for divs  .

Muhaha I now have full js and css control. :freeman: now about loading qwerty.

Shit’s gonna hit the fan.

haha! I swear there is a youtube for everything!

I have a quick suggestion, for the Security Guard section. Can you guys add in their new ability to use melee attacks in the Artificial Intelligence section on the security guard page.

You are allowed to make edits too, as long as they are cite-able.

If the other devs agree and Cman2k say “Welcome to Dev Team. Now you’re the guy in the team responsible to keep track of the wiki and see if people are writing/making shit there” – will be an honour to put my name in the Team Page.

If not, then will be better to stay away from the credits page, or people will begin to confuse me as an official developer and crazily quote me everywhere… And I know that wrong words in the wiki can cause Resonance Cascades.

Btw, I noticed that Katana isn’t there. What is his name? Position in the Dev Team? Site of portfolio? If someone know, please put that info there.

Perhaps I missunderstood this page and for that I apologize. Being in charge of the wiki will not make you a dev. It only means you are responsible for the wiki and any messes that are created.

Again, my apologies for not noticing some of the details of what was said, implied and such. :\

No problem, Catz! I guess the page you suggested is this.

You can find that in the front page, in the “Wiki Admins” link, above the forums/youtube channel/steam link.

EDIT: @Coldroll: I forgot about your post.

Can you explain better about that melee attacks? Do you have the link any specific post about it? I didn’t understand your suggestion.

I feel real stupid asking this… but where is the file/pic of the larger version of the black mesa logo?

nm. found it.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
