Help us make an awesome wiki!

Bragging, much? :stuck_out_tongue:

Speaking of which, here’s a new template if anyone’s interested, this one helps with 2 line text formatting and has the question mark.

I would help, but I don’t know how.

It’s basically just copy-paste.

I’ll do some when I get back home later tonight! Probably the weapons or items one if they’re not done in the next few hours!

Hey guys, done the vehicles page:

https://wiki.blackmesasource.com/index.php/Category:Vehicles

Let me know what you think.

Good work for sure, but I don’t think that everything needs images in a wiki.
Also, change the “on a rail tram” to “freight tram”. Or vice versa.

Freight Tram makes more sense, sounds better too.

Vehicles page is awesome. I think we should do more thumbnail pages for categories (weapons, items, enemies, etc). I don’t agree that it is unnecessary, I think it makes the wiki more “friendly” to browse and easier to use for a lot of people. Plus it’s an awesome level of polish. Let’s keep it going!

Also, the fan made content pagecould really use an overhaul. It could have a lot more information about and links to community projects.

That’s great to hear, thanks!
Just asking, how relevant are some of the community projects now, considering how old some of them are and the quality of the mod has increased dramatically since they were last active. Are you still using all the winning entries, or have you scrapped some of them to keep the level of quality consistent?

I don’t think we’ve ever said we are definitely using every single community project winner in the game. We’re using as much as we can, but we are definitely striving to keep quality consistent. Some of it might be in there unaltered, updated, or not at all. Hard to give a percentage, really.

Also I did the items page; https://wiki.blackmesasource.com/index.php/Category:Items

Made a new image for the tank thumb with the turret at about 45°.

Mine: . . . . . . . . Fridge’s:

I was gonna make a higher quality version of mine, but I want opinions on whether you prefer the forward turret or angled turret.
If it’s decided that we like the forward turret better, then we’ll just revert to Fridge’s image and I won’t bother with fixing the quality.

Hey, lookin’ good! Anyone want to do the weapons page?
Someguy: I don’t really mind which one you use, but I think the original one is more consistent with the other thumbnails, you get a clear shape of the tank, it’s more defined with the barrel front facing.

I’ll add thumbs to the Enemies page.

I’ve been watching :stuck_out_tongue:
You’re not doing bad so far, keep it up
Tip: Don’t worry about editing the page until all thumbnails are uploaded.

Edit: Thanks for the space holder, someguy. I actually needed something like that for the characters page but couldn’t quite think of the obvious solution of blank images.

Awesome! Keep up the good work

Personally, I like the angled turret better.

Does anyone have the question mark that’s being used for content that doesn’t have an image that they could send?

Edit: I’ve finished the enemies page and so I need the image for the ones that don’t have an image.

I think I prefer the front facing one.

I posted a template in the previous page that has the question mark. The layer that houses it only needs to be made visible.

Ah thanks.

Also, (this is for all) please try to be consistent with the background behind the subject. It should be RGB value of 34 34 34, or HTML code #222222

The easiest way is to just cut out the subject and paste it in a layer above the original background of the template.

I changed the background of 3 of them, I’ll change those to be consistent but should I change the ones with the grey background from the original image? I suppose I ought to change the ones I can, I can’t change ones like the bullsquid because of the shadow.

edit Unless you want the thumbnail without the shadow.
