This whole thread is full fail…
Did you just coin a phrase?
:freeman:
Do you mean failful?
no, it’s like “full retard” from Tropic Thunder
Mine was more like an elongated extended slightly more pitch curved :retard: version.
I’m surprised nobody’s compared the original post to i/(infinity)[/i] in trying to explain.
i/(infinity)[/i] isn’t worth anything.
infinity-1 is still infinity
You cannot perform operations on infinity because it’s not a number.
Yes you can, they just don’t work the same way Well, with limits you can in any case.
Infinity is a concept, not a number.
3/3 =/= 1
Profound observations… They’re always from either a genius or an idiot.
Without an explanation, the post above lends itself to be the latter.
IIRC the logic is something alone the lines of.
1/3 = 0.3333…
3*(1/3) = 3*0.33333…
3/3 = .99999999
1 = .99999
Is this really something that warrants 5 pages? I swear I’ve seen the same 2 equations that demonstrate the logic of this thing about 20 times throughout this thread.
You lot are fucking up my brain, not the universe.

If you still cannot understand 0.9999999… is 1, then you do not understand mathematics and should either educated yourself more or go work at Mc.Donald’s so you can take my order…
There are branches of maths that treat infinity as a number.
