Mighty Treehouse is trying to do the unprecedented: produce a full 90 minute, professional level cgi animated feature/web series at 1% of the cost. the way i understood it, they’ll make all their money from kickstarter projects, they’re just taking it one episode at a time
the only place i saw anything about advertising mentioned is that they’ll upload the videos on every conceivable video sharing site, both those that have ads and those that are totally free
