HDRI Rendering

Is there a tutorial how to render Source Engine models with HDRI to let them look like this?

Thanks for help!

Yes there is.

Could you give me a link, please?

My efforts to search for it failed.

I am not talking about how to use HDR in Source Games.
I am talking about rendering model screens with HDRI software like HDRShop to let them look like in the picture above.

Edit:
I found this thread, but the link to the tutorial is dead.

In that case I think that it’s easier than you think.

HDRshop modifies existing images. Just make a render/screenie, import the image, and voila.

Thx!
But as long as nobody can give me a link to a guide, this doesn’t help me that much.

HDRshop has tutorials.

maybe the best way to do such renders is decompiling the model and render it with HDRI in a raytracing renderengine

I have it now!

archive.org was the solution.
I ever forget about this service…

Thanks for the replies!

Sounds complicated.

not really. Sounds more complicated than it is.

use this

to turn the source models into regular models, then open them in your model program of choice and render them with HDR enabled.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
