My HDMI monitor seems to be a bit browner than my VGA monitor. Settings maybe, but when I switch the cables the inverse happens, so it’s not the monitor.
Is VGA really less brown than HDMI or do I need a new cable?

VGA is analog, and HDMI is digital… so the same monitor might interpret these 2 signals diffrently and create a slightly different picture. Also, the VGA’s signal will depend on the quality of the cable, its length, and anything that could induce noise, while a digital signal is not affected by these things.
I’ve not noticed this before at all, sounds like your cable could be knackered/losing signal strength.
HDMI/DVI - = Sharper image, Vibrant Colours over VGA Always
Also check, Graphics card colour settings, Windows colour settings and Monitors colour settings.
Also if your monitor isn’t 1920x1080 or higher, get with the times pal. VGA shouldn’t be used any more
Not true. Picture quality is practically the same between those connector types, unless the cable is damaged or cheap (or so long that signal degradation occurs), or a device on either end is messing up somehow.
VGA cables are able to handle 1920x1080 (and much higher resolutions) without issues.
Some monitors using HDMI connections sometimes have weird limitations on refresh rate and colour settings. It’s also quite unhelpful if your graphics card decides to think that your monitor is a HDTV and so gives you a washed-out picture and limited configuration options.
^/Disagree
I dont quite remember what it was, but when i made the change from VGA to DVI there was a difference of quality big time, VGA seemed to blur the pixils quite a bit more than DVI did, it did infact look sharper upon changing. (LCD screen).
I guess it depends on the monitor, the cable and whether or not the clock and phase settings are optimal.
Both my monitors are 23’’ 1920x1080. CCC got uninstalled when I update my driver somehow, but I’ll fix that and see if I can do anything on the color end.
Double pooooost
C fucking CC makes me so angry. I spent literally 2 days finding a way to fix a bug that wouldn’t let me open it, if you have any issues with it, tell me and I’ll help you out if you need.
Or just don’t use it
I use a third party app called RadeonPro instead, it’s infinitely better
I have 2x22" 1680x1050, one VGA, one DVI.
I just put a fullscreen black/white pixel pattern and press the Auto button (on the one using VGA)
Link please
I don’t know your monitor but some higher end ones do signal conditioning to incoming HDMI signals like televisions do. This is to compensate for quirks in modern HD broadcast and BD-movies. Make sure the digital signal is unaltered in settings and that you are using the same color temps for both monitors. (set them both to user mode)
