hd6950 hardly runs crysis on high ?

Hi there.

After playing Crysis 2 and loling about how bad it is, I though I would do the first again.

But dear lord its laggy. The 1st part of the game I had decent FPS on very high settings but when it comes to nightime I can’t even play in high.

Here is my sys :

e7400 @3ghz
GA-31m-es2l
4go ddr pc 6400
HD6950 1go

Is there something wrong with my setup ? Catalyst being crap ?

What resolution are you playing? I have a slower Core 2 and an HD 5850 and have had no problems on high setting at 1920x1200 with the demo.

I have an AMD Phenom II X2, and HD 5850, and I can run C1 on full settings with “natural mod” installed @ 1920x1080 with ~30-35 FPS.

i’m playing in 1920x1080, I think the cpu is too bad for the gpu tho

that CPU should be just enough for crysis, my c2d is overclocked from 2.4 to 3.0Ghz and it runs c1 on max settings dx10 just fine

The DDr2 ram might be slowing you down.

ram shouldn’t be a prob at all. I’m thinking like everyone else. It’s the Duo core.

Your spec should run it fine on max with no/2xAA. I expect it’s GPU drivers/audio drivers/directx issues. Make sure they are both up to date.

I notice you have overclocked the CPU, knock it back to stock to test. Have you overclocked the 6950? Crysis tended to be sensitive to any kind of overclock.

Are you running the latest patch? The latest is 1.21 but you will probably need to download 1.1 and 1.2 first aswell.

While the CPU is probably bottlenecking the GFX card it shouldn’t stop you from running Crysis maxed out at 1920x1080. You probably have a driver issue or something else software-related, or maybe a faulty video card (probably not the latter though)

Maybe I’m thinking of something else (quite possible since pretty much everyone above has one and said nothing of issues) but weren’t a lot of people with ATi cards having fps issues with Crysis?

crysis is optimized for nvidia but I have a friend with a 4870 1gb and a 3.0ghz core 2 duo and it runs at 40-60FPS on maximum settings

my 8800gt and Q6600 (and 4gb of ram etc) run crysis at very high pretty comfortably
