Hazard Course Remake (AVAILABLE NOW!)

I like how you agree with Dky, then do the opposite, haha.
If we’re using an elevator to move from the intro to the actual chamber then it would make send for the sudden change from lab to maintenance-looking. Think BM’s UC transition.

I haven’t emailed the concept artist, and I’m not sure if any else has gotten around to it.

I think the first room with Gina should be redone for 2 reasons: the dimensions are awkward, and it’s way too different from the original and it’s pretty much completely unrecognizable. I can’t even tell its the same area and I helped Box fix it up a bit. It looks very cold and well maintained compared to the rest of the training/storage area.

Ill redo it next week…The other rooms are pretty much done I think. Also does Lars can makr the Gina model?Michael suddenly disappeared.

I wouldn’t say “suddenly.” Seems to me like he was never really here.

He was, but after like 2 months I didnt saw him online. He also said he posted something in the previous thread, but it didnt show up.

Michael sent me this :“I’ve nearly finished your Gina Cross model. I’m very sorry for the lengthy development time and the lack of updates or contact, I hope you haven’t lost faith in me because of it. This is my first npc and I must confess I got stuck quite a few times with it.
What I’ve completed so far is her suit, and I now need good front and side photos of Catz face so I can finish the head, presuming she’d still like to be in the Hazard Course.
I’ll have the final renders on my DeviantArt page and ready for you to look at this Tuesday, by which time I will have finalised my materials.”

Cool stuff.

Alright, that means Lars does not have to do it :stuck_out_tongue: .

Does anyone know how we’ll handle the Gina effects? I’m not quite sure how the holo will be handled.

I liked the moving projector though. But the thing I’m concerned about is where to place it :frowning:
Oh and Serza sended me some voice samples.
guardianangels.ic.cz/BMRF/SAMPLES_BMHC.rar

And about Juan the concept artist, I’ll contact him soon to ask if he also does room environment.

I’ll try to get Lars to figure out the moving projector.

I’m talking about the Holo effects. Just having a semi-transparent Gina is pretty boring. Particle effects? Sprites? I dunno. It should glow like something awesome though.

Back to the first room topic - I think we should keep it.
I mean the original was just a empty room, with simple brushes.

I could clean it up in my spare time if you feel like letting me.

I think one main problem is the repetitive textures.

You got my permission.
Also I’m a terrrible person

God damn, do you actually use the carve tool? :fffuuu:

Okay I’ll fix it up. We’re talking about the Gina room before the HEV pickup, right?

Yesh.I havent used carve in a.long time o.o

I’ll get to it when I have time.

In the meantime, I’m pretty busy with schoolwork.

That explains so much, Box.

When Mike said he’d finished the suit, do you know if he meant rigging it up to the model or actually redoing the suit from scratch?

There’s a hologram rendermode. It’s not quite the same as it was in HL, but it still has a flickery glow and fades out over distance. Might work, just as long as the interior of Gina’s mouth is all black.

That’s an actual rendermode? I haven’t seen that for some reason.

I’ll try it out.

Anyway, I have a feeling that it should be combined with some particle effects or at least some cool sprites to make it look awesome.

EDIT: Okay yeah we’re gonna have to fix that weird black-mouth thing. It really screws up the rendering of layers that are inside the skin (such as teeth). Our Gina therefore can’t have teeth… or else problems.

Sorry for the double-post, but seriously Box… why do you have like 15 versions of the same map in your directory? I have no idea which one I’m supposed to be working with. :brow:

I can imagine Gina being very robotic, when it comes to facial expression, so I think we could do without teeth. Probably wouldn’t be noticed.

Box, I’d organize your files by either giving them a naming structure that can tell them apart or by putting them in us folders that do the same.
