Hazard Course Remake (AVAILABLE NOW!)

It is also very likely a large amount of our players will be playing just to experience HC once we release, and may not necessarily want to play through the entire game, which they’re already familiar with.

As I said - had not counted on that. My bad.

So, does that mean we have reached a friendly accord?

Awesome! bangs gavel Sold, to the man in the don’t-connect-HC-to-Inbound!

I’m glad we had a nice, friendly discussion about this rather than having to yell each other out of the thread. Great work, guys! As a reward, here’s a bit of HC stuff that I’ve been working on lately:

To any of you who are unfamiliar with Hammer, sorry if this doesn’t mean much to you!
To any of you who are familiar with Hammer, perhaps you can try and figure out what this does! :stuck_out_tongue:

I will have you know that it does something pretty cool, though! I look forward to seeing all your reactions once this thing is released.

File this under “Stuff we don’t need to do but are doing anyway,” along with the rest of the course.

Sure. My only goal here was to provide perspective and hopefully let people see things my way. If you do and still disagree, so be it. You guys are putting in your own time and effort, you get to decide what ends up being made. I’m honestly just happy to know the Hazard Course will exist because I truly did like it quite a bit. Half-Life did tutorials right, and I’m very disappointed that modern games have abandoned the practice. Even if it doesn’t turn out 100% like what I have in my head, that’s still perfectly fine. In this day and age of ambitious mod projects started and abandoned, just knowing there’s active development going on is heartening in itself.

It looks as a … TREE

Oh, God, that’s a lot of entity work. Is that VOX related?

Am I the only one that keeps reading kenny’s posts, only to realize for the millionth time that I have delved into his signature yet again? X/

I keep doing that with ChickenProtector. I think maybe the sig line needs to be more apparent.

Hi Guys!

How’s the choreography going, Crypt? Is the progress going well or is it a pain?
You’re doing great job btw! Carry on!

For some reason, this forum’s default scheme displays text in a very dark font for the dark background and yet displays sigs in a BRIGHTER text, which is where people’s eyes go. The other issue is having a sig that’s several times larger than your actual post. So yes - sigs ought to be drawn in smaller, fainter text and empty lines should probably be collapsed into single line breaks.

Decent! The entirety of the intro map has some preliminary stuff, as well as misc stuff throughout the rest of the course.

That said, if we could get a dedicated choreographer on our team, that would be awesome! But we unfortunately still don’t, so we have to make do. :frowning:

Myyyyyyth.

Hi there! Long time no see.

How´s it going guys? Still working?
Hope, you won´t end up like the guys with the OF2 mod :frowning:

This looks great, is it downloadable and if so how do I add it to Black Mesa ?

Come, come, friend. Reading and research are your allies. The information you seek is very readily available, both on this thread and on their ModDB page. It would take you all of 1 minute to find the answer. It is not out yet. They are working on it.

And when it is, we’ll probably just go with a simple installer, maybe a rar or something. Either way, we’ll make sure adding to BM is super simple.

As far as a progress report, some of us are still working on choreo. Jif and DKY are working on implementing some, I believe. Also on the agenda in the meantime is retouching some of the crummy assets and areas that pop out as particularly bad or unfinished.

If this mod does come out eventually, is there any chance it will be officially included in retail version?

No. People need to stop asking this about community mods. They’re community mods, same as my stuff. It’s not as simple as “just including” them.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
