Hazard Course Remake (AVAILABLE NOW!)

Catz deserves all the attention and respect! Without her awesome work… no I’d rather not imagine Black Mesa like that.

BMS ported to Source 2013 would be real nice right about now. Steampipe just about broke everything related to Source 2007 and its SDK tools, and getting things to work in a backwards-compatible manner is absolute hell… :meh:

Can I be in the next “testing pool” Because it’s hard to wait :’( :3

Apply for testing at this email address: BM.HazardCourse@Gmail.com

Keep in mind that just because you apply doesn’t automatically mean that you will get to test it.

Aaand if you guys need to voice an absolutely backwater random guard, my offer still stands.
Though I’m sure you’ve found way better VOA’s by now. Then again, having a plan B never hurts.

We actually don’t have any voice actors/actresses officially on board other than Catz, mostly because the script needs to be rewritten to hell. We’ll probably deal with this stuff once we reach Beta stage, and the gameplay features are more or less locked in.

We have gotten some offers, though. Most of which we kinda just said to come back when we say we’re ready if they’re still interested…
I wonder if Cornet’s still on board for it.

Hey guys, we got some new media for y’all!

All of my yes.

Yo! Outdoor segments?!?! Awesome!

Just 2 problems… shouldn’t the course realistically end where it began?

Secondly, I only see 1 rail line in that first area, but Black Mesa set a prcident for there being two.

Still, though, it’s surprisingly massive, and it looks terrific!

Maybe. But on the other hand, there’s nothing that says it can’t and shouldn’t end somewhere else. Also, it would be a huge amount of work just to get everything to line up that way anyway.

Really? Even in the beginning of AM?

I actually think it makes more sense to end up somewhere completely different. The Hazard Course is makeshift through already existing facilities, buildings and paths, so I doubt the chances of it flowing into a perfect loop would be high.

You may also notice that the end is a road going west, back in the direction of the area you start in.
Don’t worry, we got it all figured out.

I dont know of any obstacle course in real life that leads you to an end that is nowhere near the start point. Logically, that would mean a person would have to jog back, take a train or shuttle back to the beginning? Put long halls or stairs or offices between the different areas if you must, but it would seem really stupid to not have it double back on itself.

Also, remember the original Hazard Course? It didn’t loop back upon itself either - it’s a series of structures and rooms converted into a new purpose, and they worked with what they had.

But rest assured, we’re providing the player with a way back to Sector A’s main building.

So hey, you guys wanna see some shit? I redid the overview to include the swimming section and just… check it:

Cue complaining about overlapping maps. Surface Tension style.

Oh. Um, well.
Crap.
Quick, redo the swim section to turn right for a bit!

Yes. Everyone including us can eat their words.

Well, I can’t, since no one can see my words.

But nice work moving the ghost page over to my ghost forum where I reside BM Devs. I’m like your own little SCP.

It’s like you have a Ghostbusters style ghost containment bank for me.

Gosh darnit you guys.
