Correct me if I am wrong, but our lovely CatzEyes93 have done the voice acting for Hazard Course before it’s development was abandoned, no?
Si.
She did, but it’s likely that at least a few of those lines aren’t what we plan for our script.
So the original dialogs will be kept but modified?
No, she’'ll be recording new ones. Not all of the old recordings would match up to our course, and blending new and old files would create sound dissonance.
Eh, that guy usually makes up for it.
The dialogue from the Gina holo will be as close to the original as we can get it without loss of context, in any case.
Don’t listen to him, we’re gonna change every word. :retard:
Make one of the control panels (for the holo instructor) malfunction first: she should speak a foreign language for a short time…
If she’d speak chinese or hungarian for a few seconds, wow, many players would go WTF hehe.
Ok to be a bit more serious, perhaps you could ask Catzeyes to do the voice acting? She did a perfect job with Black Mesa, afterall.
Catz agreed to do the voices way back. Before we even had a team assembled, I think. We were just saying this a couple posts ago.
Also, Black Mesa is in New Mexico, USA. I doubt they have much need for multilingual recordings.
Actually they would need spanish purely do to location… also it would be funny if one of the holograms starts in spanish but not pratical… unless it only happens if you press the button.
Well, New Mexico does have a high concentration of people of Hispanic descent, having once been part of a country where a variant of Spanish was the official language. So, the bilingual instructions make perfect sense
The end of 2012 to be exact
Guess I missed that, but it’s good news all right.
True, but what are the chances of many of them being scientists qualified to work at Black Mesa?
Much higher than the chances that they wouldn’t speak English fluently.
Will you include commentary tracks here?
That avatar. A source conversion of your old one.
The last that’s been discussed of that was on this page.
Basically we wouldn’t mind it if we could figure it out.
So either way, then.
Come to think of it, I recall seeing some signs with both English and Spanish, but I think that was maintenance stuff as opposed to sciencey stuff.
Its easy we kill the batman
-get a cheap microphone
-get audacity
-place commentary nodes
done :3
We’d have to figure out what’s interesting and what’s just words. :S
Would it even work with non-chapter-based maps? I’ve never touched dev commentary before.
I tried it when I was still in the team.
It works as far as I know.
