That’s a limitation based on the old “predisaster” flag that set dialog contexts and prevented NPCs from following the player.
Gearbox just didn’t fix it for the intro because it was too low a priority for something that would require coding an additional flag into the AI.
Since Black Mesa doesn’t use quite the same code architecture, and in Source it’s easier to set use lines on a case-by-case basis (think the scientist in the AM locker room), we’re not bound by that.

Although I’m only an alpha tester for the Hazard Course and not a developer, I’ve been given the go ahead to drop some new, high resolution media.

I like the added holo-projectors on rails. That’s the best idea to have Gina’s hologram run around while looking less derp science! 
Also the black and yellow stripes are a smart addition, those lights must be quite hot when activated and so present a hazard during the course.
I like it too. Funny thing is that I’m one of the alpha testers for this mod as well.
Now, now, let’s not brag.
We don’t want to get angry emails from people who haven’t gotten into the testing pool yet.

The projector on rails is a good idea, I like it, it certainly suits the situation of that room and the room looks great too.
