Hazard Course Remake (AVAILABLE NOW!)

Hm, like this?

Perfect

Hi guys, i have been following your progress so far, and your work is incredible!
Keep it up!
(one Q:If/When you guys finish the Hazard Course, will you consider asking the
Dev Team would they put the level in the game?)
(sry if this was already discussed)

We would not ask, and if we did they would not do it.

No point in going through all the effort, either. Anyone who wants to play our course can just install it, no biggie.

Oh, ok.
Thanks.
So how far is the level % at?
(40 % finished, 60 % ?)

We don’t do percentages. For us, they’re hard to estimate and aren’t very accurate. We’re almost out of Alpha 3, and moving into Beta 1 soon.

Very much of the level design is complete, or close, and some props and textures will likely be retouched soon. Choreography is our main concern right now, as it’s one of the only major components that’s not nearly finalized.

On Day 12 note, the article hasn’t been authorized for public viewing yet, but I just wanted to let you guys know it’ll hopefully be up shortly. I’ve also put together an album of areas from this month’s media release as they looked in Half-Life 1, so check that out if you’re interested!

EDIT: ModDB Article has been authorized and is now viewable!

Okay.
Awesome photos!

The white marks on the ground go under the floor

I’ve seen the same thing in the game known as Real Life.

Yeah, I don’t think it’s really an issue.
Also, that’s been like that since Alpha 2, and you’ve never mentioned it. :pffft:

I hope you guys get a choreographer soon. (maybe not, since the general community here is lazy as fuck!):fffuuu:

Sorry to break the silence but the devs have posted this:

Maybe you guys should change your FemHEV so it might match this.

I pointed out a lot of differences in our suit and BM’s way long ago, but we’ve decided w might as well just go with our own design. I don’t think anyone will really notice while playing.

And truth be told, I personally prefer our design over that one. Hell, I prefer their old model over that one.

Plus if we used that design more than a few people would likely accuse us of sexism over Gina’s butt.
Much better we put some plating there and leave the butt moulding for Gordon.

lol
Yeah, last thing we need is to look like those Hazard Team or OBM concepts. Shudder

Attractive, but impractical as a chestplate and for mass production.

Someone needs to be shot.

Heheheh
Anyway, on topic, me and Jif are going to be working together/against each other and trying to knock out some choreography. Beginner work is better than no work, I guess! Still, though, I’m sure everyone would prefer if we had someone who knew what they were doing, lest we end up with a far worse final product. :aah:

But apparently no one on the planet is a Source Choreographer willing to work with us. It’s a myth. Myyyyyyth.

Release date: Coincident with the Rapture.:meh:

It’s okay, once I teach it to open doors, it’ll be here.

I’d actually advise against “moulded breasts” for a breast plate outside of the comic book universe. The problem with that is the human body doesn’t adhere to the inside of a hard shell and that shell can slip. The “edge” between the breasts will then end up digging into the flesh of the operator. With a sealed environment suit, it’s then hard to readjust. Just try and imagine wearing solid steel briefs for a moment and then try to extrapolate what would happen if they shifted sideways. Yikes!

I’d go with a more angular, unisex design. The HEV is intended to be a cross between armour, chemical protection, and life support, so it should look functional above aesthetic.

There. That should do for my completely unsolicited opinion
