Hazard Course Remake (AVAILABLE NOW!)

I’ve never had Belgian chocolate or waffles. :frowning:

Okay, I think it’s a tad past the basic training. The elevator seems a bit high, as well, but then again that HEV suit might work wonders, so who knows.

It was a necessity, because any lower and the fall damage would have been unacceptably low. Fall damage in Black Mesa is considerably different from fall damage in Half-Life.

And I wanted to see how far I could push the boundaries. :stuck_out_tongue:

I stopped right before the push/pull section, so we can discuss what to do for those rooms before anyone leaps into the fray.

EDIT: Map re-updated with some minor glitchfixes. Also removed the cordon since I accidentally uploaded the BSP with cordon enabled…

Any demos yet?

Not even close.

Besides, why would there be a demo of what is in itself practically a demo?

That would be like… double-redundant. :stuck_out_tongue:

Isn’t that a… single-practical?

I don’t know what I’m talking about.
But no demos. We may look for external play testers later on, though. I make no promises, however.

Hey guys. I feel like we need a discussion on what to do with the former push/pull room, which would now be the “physics room”, of sorts.

Obviously it would be very different from the original, and since nobody has jumped on it yet, I thought we should get a discussion going on what direction we want to take it.

There isn’t enough participation on the Steam chat to be able to discuss it there, and JeffMOD has some issues with the collaborative doc, I believe. It’s not like it’s a huge confidential subject either, so I think a forum discussion would be fine, in keeping with our transparency policy.

So anyone want to jump into the fray with some ideas?

For the push, use the non-liftable only pushable crate(its color blue and used in the laser room scene). For the pull, simply press (E or use) to pass through.

Yeah I was thinking of the blue crate for the push, especially in the “cross the gap” room. But I think some more physics-oriented puzzles could be implemented in the adjacent room after that one.

More crates maybe?

Pull

I would use the same(more or less) layout of the original:
get the player to lift a crate and move it away from his path.

Push

If I recall correctly,in this area Gordon pushes 3 crates inorder to create a stair:
I would take inspiration from the first puzzle of HL2:

Pile 3 or more crates to solve the puzzle

I’m gonna redo the intro instead of editing brushes, because it always turns into a clusterfuck.

Take your freakin’ time this time. Don’t go off like, a 16 grid, minimum.

I can’t take screenshots of the terminal itself because its a suprise, but I can tell you its VERY different from previous screenshots.
Did this in 3 days while being sick lol
Its currently around 75% 80% finished.
Choreography + [redacted] has to be added on the terminal.I’m going to need voice actors for [redacted].
Only interested voices actors will get to know what [redacted] means in this post.

Very well done!

But cannot see the screenshot posted

Dropbox seems to delete shared links after some hours…
Updated the link.

I shall reveal previous screenshots.

Topic. Physics room. Discuss.

Same thing as in the original but with more props?

Well it’ll be more complicated than that, obviously. There should be some kind of physics puzzle, maybe a stacking puzzle, I think. Maybe introduce the concept of puzzles in general.

do you mean the “push/pull crates” rooms?

Mhm. Although pulling is pretty much obsolete now.
