Have a 'fat' style PS3? Don't turn it on today!

I wish I would have had some better notice than this before attempting to use mine today -_-

Honestly, sounds like a BIOS problem. The only way I’ve heard you can fix it manually is to take out the CMOS battery. But I’m not going to open the case to void any warranties to do so. Wonder what Sony can do about this, if it’s at the hardware level and people triggered this glitch, taking out the battery may be the only way to fix it.

Anybody else get hit with this time glitch today?

Mine has been running like a champ since 07. Never had a single problem with it.

Wow I’m glad I don’t have a playstadium4 or whatever its called… I don’t want to have to reset the time on my computer for nothing.

Not turning mine on to find out, thanks. Although my girlfriend has the same 40gb fat model as I do and says hers is working fine.

Heh, Sersoft.

Anywho, Here’s a bit more speculation on the issue as to why it’s happening.

I can believe it, but that means in 2014 it’ll be doing the same damn thing, unless a firmware update can flash the bios. Oh well, having my PS3 bricked in the void of non-existent leap year isn’t too much of a problem. Thankfully I’m primarily a PC gamer.

Well, I did have this problem. Couldn’t play Heavy Rain :rage: . I hope me continuing on playing a PS2 game doesn’t hurt my data, though I wouldn’t really be terribly upset if anything does happen.

We found our culprit!

And we’re back up and running. Looks like the internal clock clicked over to the next day. Glad to know it runs on UTC.
