Has the BM website been slow lately?

I’ve been experiencing very slow page loads for this websites over the past week. It wasn’t due to my browser, router or Internet speed.

i needed to clear the DNS cache.

i simply opened up the ‘windows command prompt’ aka ‘Run’ and typed the following command.

If anybody else is experiencing similar problems, hope this helps.

Yeah. The site has recently been moved over to a new server. Probably still a little buggy.

I haven’t been having slow load times, but every couple of minutes, I just won’t be able to load ANYTHING for a few seconds, usually between half a minute and a full minute before it starts working again.

Apache is still being a pain in the ass, its a cpanel bug, for some reason their new log rotation implementation does not work right at all… which causes the error/access logs to fill up very quickly, which then causes apache to stop responding, which is why everyones having issues >_> cPanel is working on a fix so hopefully soon, not much else we can do but wait

Wow it’s fucking unbearable today.

It’s a little slower today but it’s not too bad compared to fps banana

Ive been directed to 404ish page 4 times today.

@Omega, what page were you on when it redirected you to the 404? It should only send you to it if you go to a URL that isn’t there…

Yeah me too, sometimes I have to try a couple of times to load the page. It’s only been like this for about a week I think.

Dam apache, I’ll look into it more (again) later tonight.

Home page or forums… dunno bout the wiki.

should make a support ticket to cpanel.

More today…

^pretty much the same thing on IE aswell.

-snip-

:retard:

If it’s bad now, I wonder if the traffic on release will cause any more problems…

I dunno. I just seems like every time they “update” or “fix” the server, it just gets worse and worse.

I haven’t been having any issues for the past few days… and according to my HTTP monitor apache hasn’t gone down at all… not really sure what the issue is.

Traffic is not the issue, it’s a bug within apache and cpanel

I think I might have fixed it, not 100% sure though. I’m still not sure if logs are rotating or not but I think I changed the threshold from 300MB (when apache crashes) to 250MB. Hopefully that gives the logrotate daemon enough time to process the logs… If anyone is still having issues reply to this thread with as much info as you can give, stuff like: can you ping blackmesasource.com? If so whats the IP/response time/etc? Any HTTP errors (404, etc)? Is it just the forums or main site too?
