Hard Drive

My hard drive keeps on heating up and as a result a few hard drive components got damaged. Is there a program or something you can configure in windows, to make your PC go into sleep mode when this happens? Or close down any applications making it heat up?

Im grateful and appreciate any feedback.

When you use electronic devices, they do heat up. Maybe instead of trying to ask for a patchwork fix you tell us exactly what you think is going on, and how you came to this idea?

there are a few heating settings in the BIOS , press delete right after you start the computer …press meny meny times

You need to buy a new drive if yours is overheating to the point of hardware failure. You’re going to regret it if you don’t.

it may cause a chain reaction is what he’s saying , like the one in his signature he’s saying :o

It’s different depending on your bios. It will say what button to press if you read the screen when it boots.

Also, yeah, consider betting cooling in your computer. Generally hard drives shouldn’t be heating up to the point where it causes damage. Get a backup drive or some system of backup, and try replacing your drive, because it’s probably faulty.
