Happy Birthday Half-life!

Should we assume that the free version will be on SDK2013 and retail version on SDK2009?

Which branch of 2009 are you going to use: Portal2, L4D2, CSGO?

I’m stingy but I guess I’ll do an exception for you.

P.s. I’d love to listen what Mr. Nielsen is brewing for the new version.

With the port to Source 2013 and the new engine, will we see graphics improvement like full dynamic lights or blur ? Or will it be only performance improvement ?

Will there be new translations added ? Will the subtitles problems (Inbound, annoucement, radio in FAF, count for the rocket…) be corrected ?

Sorry to repeat the question but the translation teams are a bit concerned about that nevertheless we understand if you don’t want (or can’t) tell about it for now. In this case, just tell us. You can also send a mail to Jokerine, we are waiting for instructions

Thank you !

I don’t know much about Source development, so excuse my ignorance. Will all currently available map mods and add-ons to Black Mesa be compatible with the new paid Steam version? I know you’ve said that Surface Tension and On A Rail Uncut won’t be integrated, but will I be able to add them as is, or will TextFAMGUY have to fix them somehow to get them to work?

Will there be trading cards?

(sorry for blatant attempt of derailing the discussion)

God fucking dammit, why am I always late to these things? Screw me and my timing.
Aaaanyway, congratulations, definitely gonna buy it on release day.
Unless it releases in December, which would be really shitty for me because of some… financial problems.

I just wanted to say: good luck, we’re all counting on you.

It hasn’t even been 24 hours, and you are complaining about being late? O_o

Once any Half-Life related news arrive, the real life has to be put aside.

Word!

-snip-

No-one said anything about Source 2, at all.

It is most likely what ever the latest version of the engine Valve licences to developers. Probably Closer to Portal 2 engine like the Stanley Parable used.

Neither did anyone deny it. Soo…

So, since things have not been denied, let’s speculate away, right? … I suggest we stick to facts.

There are no facts regarding the engine. All we have are speculations. But you are right, 'nuff said on that behalf. Won’t come to a conclusion anyway. Hope we’ll find out soon enough though cough

You have my support!
And my sword!

But what did you say? New Engine?? You mean another new engine??? Like source 2??? Awww… I will so support you guys! Trust me, when I click on that purchase button I will click so hard! You will feel it! It will blow you away!!

Thank you Black Mesa team!
Thank you Valve!

I think that Valve will make retail BM work on Steam Machines and basically it will become its killer app, and let the team use source 2 engine; Gabe Newell did mention that they were looking a game to roll it out, and I think they found it…

Good news! I’m happy for you and I will gladly give you my money, considering the HUGE amount of work you put into that. I’m still waiting for Xen though, but take your time, I really don’t care when it comes out. Black Mesa taught me to be patient. :3

I wonder how many people will pirate the game even with a free version available.

Will there be any noticable changes to the music for either version?

I can already name one. If he’s not too caught up in smoking a massive spleef, that is.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
