I’m sorry , I’ll probably ask an infamous question, but 21 pages of topic were too much to read instead of asking directly this question:
I’d love to buy the Steam edition of Black Mesa when it will be released, but could we import our savefiles into the new version? Also other progress, like achievements?
It’s already been asked in it’s own thread, official dev stance is “maybe, but I doubt it” since the engine is not the same, and there will be some bugfixes, I think it’s safe to just say “no.” to make your life easier. The achievements should be easier to pull off this time with less crashes, etc, anyway.
I’ve seen both of those before the mod was released, but I think they were added right after the website redesign.

yeah i havent looked at it since it was a thing on the forum
So I go to load up Black Mesa tonight, and something strange happens. It has 40 minutes worth up updating to do! I’m going to go ahead and assume that that means the new free version is out. Awesome.
Well, whatever the update was, Black Mesa now crashes when I try to start it up, once it even went out with a BSOD. Guess I’ll have to wait and see.
That wasn’t the mod updating. It was the Source SDK Base updating.
I just checked my BMS install, which I haven’t touched since august of 2013. Nothing happened. That’s odd.
