Happy Birthday Half-life!

oh and how could i forget shut up and take my money!

I’m sorry too for bringing up S2 engine. Wishful thinking one might guess.

Will there be two releases of BM: DM or just one?

I’m a bana- ridiculous tie!

I just want to write this message to thank your_name_here for keeping in touch with us, for the time and patience he’s putting into replying to our questions and for sharing what he can when he can.

Finally I’d like to thank the Black Mesa team for providing a free new version of the game and having worked hard for it even when they could have just used their time to speed up the commercial release.

Said that, I, will gladly buy the commercial version. If the Black Mesa team had accepted donations, they’d have got my money earlier.

Good luck with your work, Black Mesa team!

Says the guy who has had more Steam games in his library than any other BM member. :stuck_out_tongue:

“Clowbar Collective”? Rly?

Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to say your mod is worth paying for. The level of detail your team gave to all facets of this game shows your love for the original HL. For Valve to let you offer this commercially bumps them up another notch in my respectometer!

Well done team! Enjoy the monetary fruits of your labor because as soon as it’s released I’m buying!

On the topic of potentially improved graphics with the more advanced branch of Source, I’d like if some parts of Surface Tension or outdoor areas in general looked better. I mean, BM graphically mostly nails it at indoors, but some of the outdoors look like Goldsource even, take this screenshot:

https://www.blackmesasource.com/images/portfolio/image4.jpg the textures look bland, there aren’t any interesting shaders and little lightning, but that’s just me, no offense or disrespect meant.

You can assume all you want. We’re not going to disclose that information until we’re able to

You’re welcome. I know communication between the BMS team and the public has been very quiet up until recently. I’d like to try to maintain the forward momentum we’ve just gained from the announcement. Glad to hear you’ll be buying the game

I’ve been silently following this project from the early beginnings to this day and I’ve finally decided to sign up just to show my support to you guys. I don’t care how much it will take to complete the project: last year I skipped the free version just to be able to play the final one in its full glory and I’ll be more than willing to buy it on day one.

I’ve read this thread in full and I don’t have any question (…you would be comfortable answering, at least :stuck_out_tongue: ). I just hope you’ll be releasing a few pics from the latest version as soon as the engine “embargo” is lifted. Thanks and keep up with the good work!

I think it’s just that the level geometry is justifiably simple; lots of flat surfaces and plain architecture.

The shadows are a bit weird, though.

Sell outs!

There’s always one.

Like the guard at the beginning of AM: “oh Gordon, you went retail…”

Since you’ll get full access to Source, will you fix this: https://forums.blackmesasource.com/showthread.php?t=14648&highlight=vort?

wonder if sven coop people will be able to lend support for that BMcoop mode that has been in the shadows (seeing that black mesa basically gave hl1 new life, it would be amazing to see countless goldsrc mods follow suit)

i’d laugh so hard if somebody made a counter strike/team fortress based off BMS code

I’d like to see Decay touched up and made into BM Coop.

Also, I’d like to see the Vort’s posture get fixed, as well… They look so weak and passive, then suddenly they want you dead!

when this game comes out on steam it will make hl source disappear

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
