7000 thousand goddamn guests. I feel like I’m speaking publicly, and these guests are the audience.
Seeing as every video game news site is posting links to this forum…I’d probably get used to it. Enjoy!
Damnit, you’re driving me crazy with all this talk of the engine, guys. Could it be source 2? I can’t think of anything else, so as unlikely as it seems…
Also, 8491 guests. Damn. Hello everyone.
Well, I’ll try to buy the paid version if I can…You’ve made a fucking great work,
PS: Is Xen free or not? Just for curiosity.
Um, wow. Was really not expecting this. But needless to say I’m buying it, day of release.
8888 now, reminding me of another fantastic game that started as a mod.
9036 guests. Damn.
But seriously, congratulations. Feel free to take all my money once the game is released via steam. I still would like to know, is there any, any possible chance of uncut chapters being added? I am not asking if they will be added, just asking if it is at all possible.
I have answered this question before, and the official stance still stands. Sorry.
I hope that the port to a “unique” version of Source increases the odds of that happening, though.
Great news to hear. I’m glad the community is going to get a slice of what’s going on now.
probably just a p2 or csgo branch.
And this news appears while I’m at work. Kudos, everyone!
Here’s a question that I don’t believe has been asked yet:
Now that you have been Greenlit and have some sort of deal with Valve, has Valve set a specific release date goal for you, or is when you release still entirely up to you?
Anyway, I’m glad to hear things are moving along somewhat smoothly and I am also quite happy to shell out $$$ for this when it hits the shelves. (metaphorically)
CRAP! I always miss whenever a big announcement is made. Like, the day that I decide, “Nah, there probably isn’t anything on the BM forums” is the day of a huge announcement.
Congrats though, still buying the full game .
I see a lot of people asking “Xen in free version? :3” and the likes, but I think it said features would not be in the free version, not 3 whole chapters.
also lololol 69th post
Ehh, its a little disheartening to learn that our pwecious Xen has been put on the backburner purely because you were forced to switch the engine for BM multiple times and iron out everything that came with it, but hey, if that opens up even more opportunities to make the game better in the… future, (shudder ) then I’m all for it. I do hope that there can be more openness with the community on BM’s development from now on like you said though, it would ease the tension in the next intervening… months :’(:’(:’(
But really, this sounds awesome, its great that Valve let you do all of this stuff with their own IP, and now you get to make money off of too? To see the project grow from development hell to this… its amazing. Congrats Now get back to work already, we need Xhen done before Ross Scott can get to it so he can finally use BM in Freeman’s Mind, remember?
No Xen in the first retail version, so will it be released on the Early Access?
Xen and release schedule are still in the unknown/will not tell category.
I don’t really know what can be said that hasn’t been said already, but this is astounding news!
Nope. There are certain things we have to do for steam integration and to support all the features.
Yes, I know, but I was referring to the fact that practically everyone here (or at least me ) thought that the devs were working on Xen/Deathmatch the past year and that was all that was needed to complete BM before being released on steam. Instead, they were porting BM over to 2 different engines and squashing the bugs along the way, which seems to have taken up all of their game development time. I know that they had no choice but to port, and that this will open up more game options in the future, but you have to admit that its a little disappointing to learn that Xen basically wasn’t developed at all in the years time (Again, I understand the dev’s position, and I do support it, I look forward to a improved full Black Mesa release EventuallyTm )
Edit: Wait, did anyone actually respond to my first post in this thread? uh… :zip:
