hammer snap vertex to vertex

hi, ive got a vertex from one brush sitting inbetween gridpoints. This vertex cannot move orelse lots of shit starts overlapping (not good)

Now ive got another brush that needs to line up to this brush also, but i dont know how (or if its even possible)

All i can think of is a feature i dont think exists in hammer. Snap vertex to target vertex.

Anyone know if theres any feature like that?

As far as I know you can only snap overlay vertices to other overlay vertices, not brush vertices. If you want everything to snap to it you’ll have to snap it to grid at the smallest scale.

thus my problem. it is the smallest scale :\

It’s easy as long as the brush doesn’t get to complex because of decimal loss problems.
There are several ways of alligning vertices of brushes together. You can cut (not carve) two brushes if they overlap or you can go into vertex mode and select all the vertices then grabbing the vertex you want to allign and then align it to the grid.
You can allign EVERY vertex to the grid. But you have to do the maths and keep the brushes easy.

If you post a screenshot of your problem we can help further on.

Sounds like you’re fucked. My suggestion; when making unusual objects it’s often better to make the objects snapped to the grid rather than be perfect. Also, compile your map and look at the spot in question, if it’s small enough it might not even be noticeable. Or maybe you can cleverly hide it with another brush or some detail work.

Use Forge tbh.
