Hammer problem

hey guys,

not sure if this has been posted, im having a glitch with hammer

i just made a train using brushes (and custom textures if it helps), i made it into a func_tracktrain, but when i run the map, a random brush appears in the middle of the train, it doesnt collide but its visible, and i cant see it in the hammer grid

any help?

Screenshots would be nice.

printscreens being a bitch, cant get one right now

Press F5 ingame, then look in your game directory. (Eg, C:/Program files/Half-life if that’s where you installed HL)
Which engine, What version of hammer?

ok, ill try that later, im using the orange box sdk with half life 2 - episode 2

You need to create 2 path_corners (or path_track if you want, I like the corner one more). IN THE CENTER of your train. Try to navigate with the 2D views to get the path_corner in the precise middle of your train. Now create another path_corner, at another point (and so on). Select the first path_corner and press ALT+ENTER. Name it Track_1 and next stop target Track_2. Go to the second path_corner and do the same thing but name it Track_2
Now go to the train and press ALT+ENTER, name it something (if you want a button to activate it) and choose First Stop Target to Track_1

Should work now. You can ask me any question about Hammer, quite good experience with it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Didn’t accidentally parent a random brush to the train by mis-clicking did you?

Try selecting your whole map change all entities to world and then turn your train back into func_tracktrain.

Screenshots would be helpful. Also there’s no point using tracktrain without a track…

havnt checked this thread in ages, i tried all these suggestions to no avail, so i started making the tracktrain again, it was just a once-off thing, thanks anyway
