Halo CMT SP-V3

Figured I’d make a thread for this, so the mod for a30 just came out.

Guess who did the sound design for that?

:3

The irony is I lost my install disc (and therefore my key), and don’t have CE installed atm. Fml I can’t even play it.

Edit: I didn’t do the plasma rifle idle sound with the vent flaps opening though. I should.

Yeah I figured it out when I saw the sound vid on Ifafudafi’s channel and he couldn’t pronounce your name :stuck_out_tongue:

Xalener’s easy to pronounce :hmph: .

What exactly is this anyway? I haven’t played Halo in quite a while so I don’t know exactly how the games work. From the screenshots it looks like the game looks really good on PC though.

CMT an overhaul of the halo campaign. But it’s more than a graphical overhaul.

It re-balances and adds some weapons and enemies/allies.

To get the best effect, you gotta DL Open Sauce, which is a script that allows you to hook more features into the engine and enable it to do shit it could never do (motion blur, normal maps/ advanced shaders, alter and add gameplay features)

Haven’t played Custom Edition in forever. Looks like I may get back into it.

But they already did a remake of the Halo campaign… its called Halo Anniversary…

That’s a crazy update. If I had to guess I would have said the base was Halo 2. Not sure about some of the artistic liberties though, and the new gameplay stuff. But I’m just too stuck into the idea that it should respect the original far more than everyone else seems to

It’s also 40$. And it’s exactly the same as the original.

IMO i see no reason for a remake if you aren’t going to change the gameplay just a little (like BMS, or this). Anniversary is more of a reskin really, especially since the underlying engine is the same, just with different rendering code.

Hell even this is still a reskin, but it has updated AI and new weapons and enemies.

I have the advantage of living next to a game rental store, so I can play any game for $3.15 a day, and since I usually beat them/get bored of them within a day, I essentially get new games for $3.15. So I have trouble remembering that’s a problem for other people… ahh, first world problems.

Plus there’s a possibility (see possibility, as in the CMT devs probably won’d do it, but it can be done) that these changes can be applied in multiplayer too.

I hadn’t pay any attention to CMT for quite a time (since SPV2)
But this is like a (much) better version of CE:A and it’s for the PC too!

don’t dis it till you try it.
it’s probably the single most visually appealing fps i have ever played and completely worth the forty dollar price tag.

This mod looks awesome. Super-turbo-awesome.

I don’t have a 360 and don’t feel like getting one. Halo Anniversary looks cool and all but I’d rather play on PC.

When I’ve put my first build together next month I’ll need to look into getting Halo PC. Is it still possible to buy or am I going to have to find an alternative?

You’re gonna have to buy it. You need a CD key to get custom edition.

I actually agree. I’d have preferred to see high quality marines with nice faces instead of ODSTs, but I guess the latter was easier. I don’t really like the mjolnir mkV design either, but oh well.

Edit: GREAT FUCKING NOOS. I was able to recover my CD key! I can now play the mod.

In case anyone wanted to know more about this before trying it out.

I thought this died off a long time ago. I’m very surprised to see it again, and so pretty! I’m also glad no one has flamed this thread for being for “console fags” or any other recklessly negative chatter alike.

Yeah, I’m surprised too.

Holy shit that’s fucking sexy.

Seeing that video reminded me how inadequate the Halo Reach incarnation of Blood Gulch was. Just the ambient noise alone seemed way better than Hemmorrhage.

Yeah. Ambient noise became less and less prominent as the series went on didn’t it?

People forget how important it is.

okay I rewatched the trailer and I noted what I think is my other issue with the mod.

It’s a bit too bloomy and the spec maps are overdone. These two things combined are a bit off putting. I know it seems all negative feedback but I overpowers the gameplay footage I’m seeing.
