Half-Life Texture Issue

So i was playing half-life on my new computer for the first time and, the textures were all like, oversized and cubey or something. I have no idea why this would be happening, it does this with all graphics modes and there is nothing I searched that will help me.

Are those miniature props on the floor… wtf?

You’re probably playing in direct-x mode, change it to opengl.

[:ninja:'d to da max]

@Grief Reaper - That’s just the size of the environment…crazy how proportions were back in the day. :expressionless:

It’s odd though…the textures on the objects (rails, boxes, toxic-waste) are fine; it’s only map textures.

You don’t happen to have gl_picmip on now do you?

Gah, none of this has worked so far.

Is this a legitimate copy of Half life?

Verified your files yet?

mat_showlowresimage 0

it’s from source though but that’s the only command I remember that did this

it’s just a brush with textures

It’s the wrong textures. Have you added any texture pack?
It should look like this:

Yes. proof here.

mat doesn’t exist in first half-life.

And no texture packs THAT I KNOW OF, are installed into the half-life folder.

Delete the half-life folder form your steam username folder (C:\program files\steam\steapps[USERNAME]\half-life) and try re-launch the game.
