Half Life, Plagiarism?

I know. It’s not plagiarism, I just wanted to see rage. :frowning:
Marshmallow, can you copyright atmosphere and feel?

No.

“Not yet!”

Somehow I thought this was a complicated troll. Hi everyone! (not that anyone remembers)

I think HL is plagiarism because it copied from HL2.

No. All it copied were Headcrabs and Vortigaunts. Thats not exactly Half Life now is it? Are you saying Half Life was made up of just Headcrabs and Vortigaunts? I mean They are both aliens but, where do they come from? Spain?

No, Spain.

Wait… what!? lol.

Think of that statement as an airplane flying over your head.

Ironically, this looks BETTER than HL2: DM.

I’ve been playing the first Resistance on the PS3 and the enemy’s technology and architecture reminds me a bit too much of the Combine’s one.

EVERYTHING’S BEEN DONE BEFORE

I see no similarities

Indeed. Apart from the fact that they latch onto your head, and their size, they’re completely different. Facehuggers latch onto your face (duh) and headcrabs jump on top of your head. Facehuggers lay eggs in you, headcrabs turn you into HAEDCRABZOMBEI. Their anatomy is completely different, facehuggers bleed acid, and so on.

They also scream, have tails, and look like large hands. Their victims die, naturally. It doesn’t take another person to shoot them.

You can kill a headcrab with a crowbar. I have yet to see a facehugger die by a crowbar.

No, but it’s considered lazy to copy atmosphere. Half-Life actually was one of those games that was plagiarized SO MUCH that we’re used to seeing signs of it everywhere.

For example, the Resonance Cascade scene is mimicked in pretty much every sci-fi game, movie, and TV show since.

And the gravity gun got stolen. They better not fucking steal the portal gun. However most are too stupid to code a portal game and they wouldn’t anyway because… well people would see through them and loads of other shit.

I see mods of half life 2 everywhere, all stealing hl2 game. :frowning:

facehuggers are cooler imo

When? By whom?

The Starship Troopers book inspired most modern day sci fi - especially Aliens. It’s the first thing I know of the have the idea of a space marine and scary insect like aliens.

Duh, The Incredibles! Syndrome has a Zero-Point Energy bracelet that can manipulate objects.

(I doubt that’s what he was referring to :3)
