Half life iOS

Tech bubble- Are you referring to iOS, and the App Store?

Valve won’t bother with mobile devices
At least not until they take over Apple Store & Google Play so they can replace it with Steam

I belive that steam on the ps vita would be a good idea. I sort of wondered like what fun it would be to have gmod on the ps vita, but then I realized how much of a pain it would be with the controls.

I’ve tried playing Goldeneye 007 on my touchscreen phone, and it is a pain in the butt to play… so unless you have a qwerty keyboard, an FPS won’t really work on a phone.

Next up, Steam mobile :expressionless:

It’s clearly fake. The camera starts moving before he touches the screen.

The only time I want to see Half-Life on some sort of handheld thing is if the game is Codename Gordon.

Good touchscreen shooter mechanics? The closest you’ll get is dead space, which is rather awesome.

I do want to get dead space.

Shitloads of people have already ported Half life to the quake engine for use on Ios platforms and the original PSP.

I had a quake port on my psp but it was not to good, than I lost my psp :frowning:
I never saw a quake port of HL on iOS.

I actually thought the Quake port to the PSP was rather neat. I didn’t play it much because it was a bit awkward, but it worked well enough and the framerate was solid.

The controls on the Vita would actually suit gmod well, what with all the menus and gmod using the mouse pointer for some things, I could see the touch screen being very nice for that.

If Valve continues backing Sony as their console developer of choice (bscly as long as Sony keeps the money flowing) I would love to see some Source games on my Vita. Many of the games the system has are good, but it does need more if Sony plans on competing with Nintendo, so why not ask Valve what they think about it?

I’m not saying that the quake port for the psp was bad, its just that when i tried to play it it was acting kind of funky. like when the speech in the control room for the test lab was finished i could not go on for a wile. finally when i was actually about to do the test i could not start the test sequence. The eye scanner was misstextured. In general it was really buggy.

Gmod on the ps vita wont be to bad, but i can see problems with numpad controls for when you are trying to do something complex. It would be good for just messing around, with some multiplayer games like trouble in terrorist town.

CS GO would be a good idea for the ps vita.

should i rename this thread to Steam portable? if i can

The PSP port only had AM chapter and the iOS port… well you can’t press the use key.

That was the problem, the use key did not work.

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
