Half-Life for Dreamcast

It’s quite easy to find. I saw it one day but I’ve just finished HL on the PC then.
It’s a curiosity, I might try it someday.

I am not following your trail of thought here…

I did. It rang true

I played it, it’s totally horrible, an insult to the game.

You thought hl2 had bad loading problems? They are alot worse in the xbox version. They added special rooms that don’t exist in the PC version simply because if the loading point was in an outdoor area the xbox would run out of memory.

And forget about high res textures, if I ran that version on PC you would say the game settings are “Models: low, Textures: Low, Shaders: None, Shittiness: Extreme”

I think it is a good game on both pc and xbox, and the load times are about the same for me and the graphics are still fine - better than my computer and most of my settings are near high. Why does everybody hate the console port so much?

Make a media-center PC, say it’s for DVD’s and such to whomever you live with.
Then one night install Steam and HL1 on it and connect your Xbox 360 controller to it(If you don’t have one, steal one like Sersoft), sit back and play Half-Life.

That’s why.

I like consoles so I think it is awesome.

Liking consoles doesn;t make HL2 on xBox awesome. :hmph:

My best friend’s dad did that once I think. I never thought you could do that until then. Thanks for giving sort of a tutorial.

You, sir, have been sent a PM.

I actually don’t like the x360 controller, I am using a sony dualshock clone made by logitech.

When Half-Life was cancelled for Dreamcast I was heartbroken! at the time I no longer had a computer and I… it was devastating.I wish I still had my Dreamcast, it was underrated.

But if the game itself is awesome, then why would it not be awesome on an xbox?

Because it’s not the same game, it’s a downsized version and I just remembered something, the frame rate was terrible, sometimes the FPS dropped all the way to 10, I’m not even joking, I used a legit xbox and a legit version of hl2.

they even deleted random things here and there from the original maps. i remember some places seeming emptier, and iirc there was a whole building missing on the coast

It was fine for me. Didn’t even notice the load times, seem the same as the PC version.

Wait, are you talking about TOB for the 360 or HL2 for XBOX original.

What do you mean by it being a “downsized version” and I always got a great frame rate and everything too.

EDIT: does it really matter that they removed a building and it didn’t seem empty for me at all.
Also TF2 is much better on console, more teamwork because of smaller teams, it is fairer due to none of the weapon updates, the only complaint I would have is missing goldrush.

They said xBox, they mean xBox, not xBox 360.

I’m going to go ahead and say “Prepare for unforseen consequences” on that sentence.

I was meaning the stealing part was like you.

Original XBOX, though my PC was shit at the time so I can’t really complain, I was just happy to play the game!

EDIT::ninja: You bastard.

Oh, original xBox, I don’t have any experience with that. I was confused about which console.
