Half Life episode 3 possible announcement

Gabe sent out a bunch of emails today saying that there’s no announcement today. Can’t say I’m surprised.

well shit

Do you think they’d actually tell us if they were going to announce something though?

they would, they want as much attention and as much hype as they can get, learn something about pr.

That’s pretty wishful thinking.

“We are not announcing anything.”

Fuck.

I hope this means they will release a game on VGA’s instead of announcing it. :stuck_out_tongue:

All Half life brings is disappointment.

Well Valve just friendzoned all of us.

Or, (just speculating) they might be indeed going to talk about HL2:EP3; they just aren’t announcing anything, because technically, Ep3 is already announced.

Successful surprises are never announced. I will be happy if Valve (or any other dev that I like, for that matter) drops a bomb on us.

if they want to keep developing modern software titles, they’ll have to develop a new engine and why not for Half-Life 3? I mean, how old is Half-Life 2 now? 2004? They’ve already said how difficult it is to improve the source engine any further. Just saying eventually they’ll have to make a new engine… it’s been a while since EP2.

Of course. Except that episode 3 will be running on the current source engine.

Who said we will even see ep 3 ?

The 1st commentary bubble by Gabe Newel in the very beginning of Half-Life 2: Episode Two.
:hmph:

an there goes fucking episode 3, see you guys in 2013, fuck

Lol

Episode 3 wasn’t announced at a cable network’s video game award and thus won’t come out this year.

Later

:hmph:

The name is irrelevant, it will be the same part of the story whether it’s Half-Life 3 or Half-Life 2: Episode 3. Idiots need to stop stressing over the name.

And it doesn’t matter if Valve announces it a year or a day before it’s released, their games cause enough waves that they don’t have to spend a crapton of time or money on advertizing like you keep implying.

Its OK blue’s just affected. it’s sad really :frowning:

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
