HALF-LIFE: BLUE SHIFT

I think it was a great game, like HL except shorter and from maybe a little less interesting perspective! But what are you thoughts?

yeh i like it. i never like the oposiong force as i hated those malitairy guys.

It was a game.

It was wasted potential & overall little more than a big map pack.

I just can’t dislike it because the setting is Black Mesa, and I love Black Mesa so much (BOTH Black Mesas! ).

I hated that they did nothing to rectify the part where every guard is the exact same character

great game, as of ALL half life games

Blue Shift was only supposed to be an extra game for the Dreamcast version of HL1, but since that version was cancelled it was then released as a stand-alone expansion for the PC.

That’s why it’s so short and has no new weapons or enemies.

late

It was okay, but not as good as Half-Life or Opposing Force. I was also quite disappointed with it, since I had already played as a security guard in Azure Sheep, which is a much better mod.

Interesting, I never knew that. Kind of like Decay for the PS2 version. Speaking of which, has anyone ever played all of the way through Decay? I just started playing it again a month ago with my friend, but the server crashed halfway through, so we haven’t given it another go.

What do you mean? They reused the fat guy introduced in Opposing Force.

Blue shift is okay bscly… but Half-life and Opposing force are just much better. case closed.

It’s too short… as soon as you get into the bang bang half-life feeling, it’s over

As part of the Generations pack it was awesome; a fun little addition. Not sure how I’d feel paying full price for it though

For me it’s special because it is set in Black Mesa, and that’s my absolute favorite place of all video games, I was really sad when it was nuked :frowning: (((

it is a cool game.

As a kid, for the longest time i thought that Blue shift and OpFor were Valve games. I thought I was all knowing about valve games until someone told me that they were gearbox games.

Which raises the question, if it wasn’t for gearbox would half-life be as significant? Think about it, if BS and OpFor didn’t exist the wait to get our half-life fix would of been about 6 years till hl2. That’s plenty of time for fans to stop caring. Oh wait a minute…

It was a great expansion pack, had some nice tie ins, no all new aliens, just a good side story

You mean “raises the question”, because “beg the question” means something entirely different.

Unless you continue that ellipsis with “that doesn’t actually matter in the slightest” I don’t want to hear it.

There is a big problem with gamers on forums expressing an over bearing sense of entitlement. There is no “expiration date” for making sequels in any medium, (toy story 2 & 3 were released 10.5 years apart) in fact more games should probably hold off on making sequels. Some developers seem feel the need to crank out sequels on such a frequent basis that it seems like we never get a break from it. Can you honestly say you’d be more interested in another cranked-out Call of Duty sequel or a Psychonauts 2?

Founded in 2004, Leakfree.org became one of the first online communities dedicated to Valve’s Source engine development. It is more famously known for the formation of Black Mesa: Source under the 'Leakfree Modification Team' handle in September 2004.
